  • Episode 28 - The Gang Dreams of Short Stops....and Checks In On The Kids
    Hello everyone!
Today Evan James and Michael Ajeto are joined by Lookout Landing writer Anders Jorstad to talk Mariners. We kick it off with some minor league talk about Emerson Hancock, George Kirby and the young arms across the organization. We dip a little bit into Jerry’s new status, and how we expect it to influence the Mariners spending or not spending moving into the offseason. There’s much discussion about the short stop position, particularly Trevor Story and some of the other superstar names who might make sense as additions to the feeble Mariner infield. We look at some of the holes in the roster moving forward and theorize some ways to close those holes, and maybe which routes to doing so might be open. We look a little bit at the outfield and do some risk assessment on a very interesting but ultimately unreliable group of players. We take a look at the kids: Jarred and Cal, and preach some patience as they work through rookie struggles. Evan also repeatedly calls T Mobile Park “Safeco” and it confuses everyone; Shameful, disgusting behavior. Mikey and Evan forget that Wade Miley threw a no hitter this year. Lastly we eagerly anticipate the rise of Matt Brash: Relief Pitcher. Finally, Mikey gives a little tease for an article he is writing on ascending Mariner: Yohan Ramirez.

  • Episode 27 - The Gang Gets Promoted!...And Prospects Struggle
    Hello!
This week is a banger as we dig into the new extensions for Scott and Jerry, and wax poetic about what it all might mean for the Mariners world series aspirations. We talk continuity in the front office as well as Jerry's new title as president of baseball operations. We look back at the trade deadline and examine how the roster is performing at this late stage in the season, and the dwindling but still flickering playoff hopes. We borrow liberally from Joe Doyle's infamous and controversial article about Jarred Kelenic on Lookout Landing, and assert his well considered opinions as our own. Lastly we touch on the newest reruns on the Mariners roster: Sheffield and (best hitter in AAA) Jose Marmolejos, and ponder their uncertain futures.

  • Episode 20 - The Hiatus is Over...and Welcome Evan!
In this episode, Evan and Mikey discuss the Mariners' staff's mistreatment of a fan in a viral clip last Friday, talk about the recent successes (and struggles) of various Mariners, as well as the consequences of MLB's enforcement of banning foreign substances.
