As we continue our study in Luke 7, we’ll see how Jesus responded to the faith of the widow in this passage and brought her son back to life.  Jesus had a purpose in this encounter, and that was to demonstrate God’s great power.  And in doing so, He honored the faith of this seemingly insignificant woman.
