Wayne, is Scotti’s longest running friend going back to the 4th grade. It's critical to be “well read " and can be the ultimate game changer to find that “common interest” with your prospect in sales. He shares his immense knowledge as a student of music history, of playing his guitar, and the impact it has on our wellbeing. We dive into what it takes to be successful in business, in particular sales. Wayne reminisces the lessons learned through “no nonsense fathers”, Little League baseball, Junior High Coaches, caring teacher’s and the spankings we both received pretty regularly. He is the master of sales, through his exceptional client relations skills always going the extra mile with everyone he meets. Wayne’s philosophy is to treat everyone with respect, work harder than everybody else, first impression is everything, and family and God come first. Wayne gives most of his credit to his loving wife and their dedicated relationship. It is important, “that people know you; if they don’t know you, they can’t do business with you and you get known by going out of your way to know them; what they like; what they do. If you want to build a lasting relationship, to endear yourself to someone, do something for their child. Remember to consistently reach out to people especially on holidays and special times of the year." Hosted by Scotti Madison

Chris Skibbie, affectionately known as just “Skibbie”, was born in Japan as an Army brat and later moved to Germany for her teenage years following her Dad's military assignment. She grew up understanding discipline and structure from a father who started first in the US Army and later joined the Civil Service training troops in NATO on engineering equipment. Skibbie tells how you motivate your team as a female, even with they are all men, “you just listen to their suggestions, deliver when you can; you actually care”. She shares her story meeting General Colin Powell and him distinguishing Skibbie above the men. We discuss the importance of “Taps” as the surreal song played at Military funerals, at the lowering of the flag and at sunset on military bases. She discusses the importance of working with kids and her love for special education children. She served twenty-three years in the US Army and earned both a law degree and teaching degree. Early in life, she was one of two females from each state that were selected and presented a scholarship to represent the state of Michigan in the College Junior Program, before ROTC. She turned them down and later received a call from the Michigan National Guard asking her to reconsider on their scholarship offer. She convinced the National Guard to grant her the status of “Female Engineer Officer”, the very first in the United States Army National Guard. Her twenty-three years in the National Guard, achieving the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, included eight years of active duty while working the remaining years with civilian companies around the country. Her tours of duties included Japan, Korea, Germany finally ending up providing disaster relief operations as the Army’s first responders under the Corp of Engineers helping build back decimated areas. How do you handle becoming paralyzed as a teenager? You don’t have to look too far to see someone else going through a more difficult time than you, such as Tyler Childs. It’s not often you read a young man’s letter and ask him to join your show without notice. Such is the case with Tyler. He sent me a request letter asking for my autograph on some baseball cards. For some strange reason, I took the time to sit in a place of solitude and carefully read Tyler’s note. When I reached the line, “My senior year of high school, I decided to drive drunk and ended up in a car accident which left me paralyzed for life. Don’t feel sorry for me. My motto is if ‘I cannot stand up, I’ll stand out,’” it encouraged me. Tyler remembers his dad’s resounding words the night before the accident, “Son, eighteen can either make you or break you.” It broke Tyler yet he is traveling a journey of hope and encourages others!
