Coach David Lee has coached football for 46 years, 31 of those years mentoring college players and 15 years in the NFL. Scotti’s “Old Ball Coach” talks about what it takes to be a great leader and a great person; how to departmentalize and separate your business and your personal life. He discusses how he overcame “a ton of adversity football wise” in college eventually becoming an All-SEC quarterback. Coach Lee was soon relying on great faith and principle to equip him with the skills that has made him the “go-to” guy when a young NFL quarterback is struggling. Coach inspired Tony Romo, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Tyrod Taylor, and Chad Pennington. His brilliant offensive mind has championed him as the “NFL Innovator of the Year” and Coach Lee also created the “wild hog” offense in college, the play every football team runs when the running back receives a direct snap from the center. Steve Steinhauer was the face of Aflac at NASCAR for the first five years when the “duck” first entered stock car auto racing. He was known on the track by every driver as “Stevie Bobby”. Steve was accomplished in sales for forty years after leaving his first job as a welder. We worked together for twenty-five years as commissioned salesmen for Aflac, thicker than thieves and have more hard lessons and funny stories than a person should be allowed. Steve’s father, always positive, a great influence in our lives, had polio at an early age and became personal friends with Teddy Roosevelt in Warm Springs, Georgia. Fun followed us, and we learned “don’t take yourself so seriously and make everyone a friend. If it isn’t fun, find another job.” Hosted by Scotti Madison.
