The book also encompasses oral tradition from generations and stories from our ancestors pre-1947.
In our conversation, we talk about her inspiration behind the book, why she wanted to focus on punjabi proverbs and also dealing with culture clash whilst growing up which is something that most of us can relate to.

In this solo episode, I share reasons why I love being single and some things I don’t like about being single. I also share some lessons that my single life has taught me.
I just want to say, that being single isn’t a bad thing but sometimes society makes single people feel like there is something wrong with them, and that’s not the case at all. So if you are single right now, just remember that there is nothing wrong with you and you are beautiful just the way you are.
It’s Preeti Personal is all about love, mindset and highlighting stories from the South Asian diaspora.

In episode 10 we talk about anxiety. I’m joined by my first international guest, Naina Mahtani, a clinical psychologist from California.
We talk about how the brain registers anxiety, the optimal level of anxiety needed for us to perform as well as why in some cultures such as south asian mental health is so stigmatised.
I just want to thank Naina for being a guest on this episode and sharing her knowledge and experience.

There’s been a lot of talk about what an ideal South Asian (desi) girl should be like over the years and this conversation has definitely resurfaced thanks to the Netflix show Indian Matchmaking
I’m joined by Manveer, a Bhangra dancer and food blogger to talk about these cultural ideas that people think girls in south asian communities should uphold.
We talk about aunty culture, how girls and guys are treated differently, the pressure to get married and also the phrase “fair, slim and trim”
Just want to say thanks to Manveer for joining me on this episode, I really enjoyed our conversation.
