Psalm 32, verses 10 and 11, "Many sorrows shall be to the wicked; But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him. Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous; And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!" The end result of walking in truth is an inner joy that this world knows nothing about. When all hell is breaking out in this world, you will be able to see something that is beyond all of that confusion. You'll have a vision that's only given by the presence of God. He will petition your heart if it is not set apart for Him. He will whisper to you as you walk down the street about certain attitudes, thoughts, behaviors and practices. Let your heart today be captivated by truth! Allow the voice of God, that has the power to create the universe and the power to recreate you with His spoken word, let it speak to your heart today. It's time to shout for joy. It's time to pray!

The Gospel of Mark chapter 10, verse 27, "But Jesus looked at them and said, 'With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.'" One of my grandsons laughs out loud every time I say the words, "Oh phooey!" I don't know their origin but to me it means, don't believe that for one second. Though the situation varies sometimes it's my response when he says something like, "I don't think I'll ever be able to…." Oh, you just fill in the blank for that one. But I know, from experience, that with God all things are possible. I wonder if when sometimes you voice doubt about the possibilities that God has spoken over your life; that God doesn't just look at your words and say, "Oh phooey." It's time to pray!

Psalm 32, verses 5 and 6, "I acknowledged my sin to You, And my iniquity I have not hidden. I said, 'I will confess my transgressions to the Lord,' And You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this cause, everyone who is godly shall pray to You in a time when You may be found; Surely in a flood of great waters they shall not come near him." In other words, in a time of confusion where contrary thoughts to Biblical truth will become the normative order of the day, and when the enemy comes in like a flood in our society, literally; the Bible promises that the Spirit of God will raise up a standard against it. The Spirit of God will give us the strength and will cause you and I to stand. The Spirit of God in us will give us light in the midst of all the darkness and clarity in the midst of increasing confusion. Stand on His promises. It's time to pray!

Psalms 18, beginning at verse 16, "He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me." You know, when we fail, it's so easy to think that God has turned His eyes of love away from us. How can He look upon me we say; how can He not be as ashamed of me as I am of myself? The Bible declares that you are the center of God's affection. His love for you is everlasting. His death for you is all the proof you will ever need. Let Him deliver you today because He delights in you. It's time to pray!

Prayer finds its ultimate authority when we begin to pray for others. We must not forget other believers who are in this battle with us. Realize that we are praying for many evangelists, pastors, missionaries, and other ambassadors who are called of God, yet they are currently in chains. Paul exhorts us to pray for all the saints, not just for ourselves, and pray with authority. Pray that those who are in prisons, spiritually or physically, that they would be set free to boldly speak the truth of Jesus Christ in this dark hour. In Psalms 18:3 David says, "I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies." You know, King David had known great victories. He knew that the source of his strength had come as answers to prayer. Though surrounded himself, he knew that his victory would also mean freedom for many others. I'm sure that everything hell had tried to quiet his voice. Satan is afraid of prayer. Prayer moves both the heart and the hand of God. And when God moves, as the rest of this Psalm shows us, hell begins to tremble. Verse 7 says, "Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the hill also quaked and were shaken, because He was angry." God wants to fight for you. It's time to pray!

2 Corinthians chapter 10, verse 3, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." The devil would have you to believe that you'll never catch him or ever figure out his strategy. But we have been given authority over all the power of the enemy. We have been given power in the Spirit to do war against the rulers of darkness. Remember Jesus, the Lamb saved us, but Jesus the Lion lives in us! We are more than conquerors through Christ, our Savior. For you and I, it's time to pray!

Today I'd like you to pray with me as we remember the tragedy of September 11th when it hit here in New York City and how it affected our entire country. Pray with me that there would never be an attack like that against our nation again. Father God, in Jesus name, Lord we lift up not only New York City, but all the major cities of this country, we ask you Lord to keep our borders safe and our cities safe. We ask, Lord, that You would thwart the plans of any deviant who wants to come and cause harm in our society, cause panic or fear in our streets, and we ask for healing of every heart that has fear because of the past events in our society. God almighty, give us confidence that can only come from Your presence being lived out inside of our minds and our lives. Remember, it's time to pray!

Psalm 32, verses 3 and 4, "When I kept silent, my bones grew old. Through my groaning all the day long. For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vitality was turned into the drought of summer." For some that might be hearing this today, you might be wondering why you've been so heavy lately. It's because the hand of God is on you. The hand of God is drawing you. He is trying to speak something to your heart that you might have been resistant to receive. Listen to truth and in doing so you'll be able to walk in truth. For you and I, it's time to listen, it's time to begin to pray! Judges chapter 7, verses 19 and 20, "Gideon and the hundred men with him reached the edge of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just after they had changed the guard. They blew their trumpets and broke the jars that were in their hands. The three companies blew trumpets and smashed the jars. Grasping the torches in their left hands and holding in their right hands the trumpets they were to blow, and they shouted, 'A sword for the LORD and for Gideon!'" You know-Gideon saw himself as a nobody. Though he was called of God, he couldn't see originally past his circumstances. The smashing of the clay jar represents the shattering of self-image, former dreams, all the excuses we have. When they picked up the torch, this was a picture of the Spirit of God, once again being exercised through human vessels to declare the name and the glory of God in the earth once again. Oh, God-it's time to pray!
