Bernard hails from Smyrna, Georgia. He is the 7th of eight children. He is currently employed by Prince George's County Public School System. He has been married to his college sweetheart, Mrs. Edana Johnson Perry for 35 years. They are the proud parents of three children Taelor, Christian and Kayla and the proud grandparents to Ariyah and Amahri.
Mr. Perry and his wife serve as members of the Family Ministry at Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church (GMCHC), and Mr. Perry serves as Vice President of the men’s ministry. For over eight years, they also served as parent facilitators for the clients of the Family Reunification Program (co-sponsored by the D.C. based Court Service Offender Supervision Agency (CSOSA) and GMCHC. Husband, Father, Christian, Educator, Athlete, Frat Brother… and a mentor to hundreds of young people, Mr. Perry credits God, his family, his Pastors Bishop Alfred Owens and Co-Pastor Susie Owens, as well as Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity with influencing him to become the man he is today.
Born in the city of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia Deacon Daryl Shambourger made his way to Washington, DC to attend Howard University. Shortly thereafter found employment with Georgetown University’s Athletic Department - Finance Office. Later transferring to the Men’s Basketball Office under the late Coach John Thompson, Jr.
He credits his loving parents for their guidance which helped him become the man he is today. Mother Charlotte McCoy and those intervention sessions in her kitchen which lead him to dedicating his life to Christ.
Daryl, later settling into a career in Security. While working as a security officer he was also able to obtain certification as an Emergency Medical Technician. Daryl has a servant’s heart always looking to render services to others. He has been a member of Greater Mount Calvary Holy Church since 2003 under the leadership of Archbishop Alfred Owens and Co Pastor Susie Owens. He has served with numerous ministries and is presently a facilitator with the Discipleship Ministry.
Daryl is married to Nicole Shambourger, his queen, a wonderfully supportive wife and friend. He is also the proud father to his daughter Nia Shambourger.
