This week It's Your Pic steps through the wardrobe and into the fabled land of Narnia with the first of Disney's adaptations of the C.S. Lewis books: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.  Does this 2 hour 20 minute, CGI-heavy film capture the magic of the source material? That's what we'll try to decide as we also talk Lewis the man, and I try to keep up with Collin's wandering mind.  Seriously, I don't know what he was thinking about during the recording, but it certainly wasn't about this movie.  I'm sure there was a video game rattling around in there somewhere that he wanted to get back to.

For some The Goonies is THE quintessential 80's movie: a nostalgic trip of a movie about one perfectly adventurous day.  A treasure map, childhood friends at your side, and the discovery that all the crazy, goofy dreams you hold in your pre-teen heart are actually true -- there is treasure to be had at the end of that map.  It's all there.  But is it packaged in a great movie? That's the question at hand on this week's It's Your Pic.

This week Collin picked the 2015 Jack Black movie Goosebumps.  The trailer for this movie gave me exactly zero in the way of anticipation or hope for this movie, but as I have vowed to watch whatever Collin picks, I soldiered on.  You'll have to listen in to see if my brave sacrifice was worth it.

Since Spielberg's BFG is looming in the near future I decided to revisit another Dahl adaptation: 1971's Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.  And, being in a capricious mood, decide to add Tim Burton's 2005 adaptation Charlie and the Chocolate Factory into the mix as well.  Very Wonka-ish of me, I believe.  At any rate we do some good old fashioned compare and contrast with these two movies.  Which did we prefer? Which made my daughter cry and gave Collin an upset stomach? Did we like Wilder's whimsy or Depp's dementia? Hop on our candy-coated ship and take a ride down a digital chocolate...you know I really don't have a decent Chocolate Factory/Podcast analogy, so I'll just ask politely that you give us a listen.
