I wish I could say that the release of the Lego Batman teaser trailer inspired us to revisit 2014's The Lego Movie, but in reality it was just a serendipitous choice by Collin.  We'll take whatever synergy we can get though.  The both of us have a ton of love for this movie, so if you don't want to hear two people just gush for 30 minutes you might want to skip this one.  I mean download it for sure, but you've been fairly warned...lot's of gushing.

Collin had never seen an Alfred Hitchcock movie before, so I started him out with one of my favorites.  I may have actually jumped the gun a little bit in starting with this one.  He was pretty bored with the first 30 minutes of Jeff and Lisa's love life talk.  But when the movie proper kicks in he was engaged.  I don't think he's quite ready for Vertigo or Psycho however.  Still, I think we have a pretty good discussion about the movie itself and about the ethics of what the main character is doing.

This week Collin spent $5 of his own, hard-earned money to buy a copy of 2005's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which also tuned out to be his movie pick.  The movie cost $50 million to make and only grossed $21 million domestically.  I guess that's would explain why there has never been a sequel.  Still, that doesn't mean it's not worth your time.  The clever word play of the books is somewhat lost, but Sam Rockwell's performance alone is worth a watch.  Give this week's show a listen and maybe we can convince you.

A lot of people have a fondness for this movie that I've never shared.  But, since I've only seen it once before this viewing, I decided to give it another look.  Listen in to see how Collin and I felt about this baseball/50's nostalgia/coming of age flick.  I sigh and say, "but so uhhh..." a lot, and Collin, gamely fighting allergies but still unaware of microphone proximity, snorts into the mic a few times.  I tried to cut most of them.
