I apologize to all those who are experiencing Star Wars fatigue, but all the Force Awakens talk got Collin wanting to revisit his "favorite" Star Wars movie.  After the re-watch he may or may not revise his list. In addition to our usual 5 questions, we discuss whether or not Wookies have seen Tarzan, lounging Jedi holograms, and of course we have to bring up the "Nooooooooo!!!!"

The episode is a little longer this week as well because we give our top five of 2015 from the rather limited list of stuff we've seen this year.  It's all pretty pointless and self-indulgent, so if you want to skip the last 15 minutes I understand.

It's Your Pic gets in the Wayback Machine and visits a movie that older than the two of us combined.  We've both somehow avoided seeing this 1952 classic musical...some might say, the classic Hollywood musical...but that has now been remedied.  I'm happy to report that the movie is as vibrant and energetic as advertised.  We both had a blast watching this one, and I hope it's the first of many "old movie" shows we talk about.  There's a ton of classic Hollywood that I've just never bothered to see.  Hopefully the podcast gives me an excuse to finally see some more classics, and hopefully they hold up as well as this one.

It really wasn't my plan to do what literally every other movie podcast has been doing and talk about Star Wars: The Force Awakens, but the proverbial hustle and bustle of the holiday season left me with the choice of a Star Wars show or no show.  Some may argue that the latter choice was the correct one, but we're nothing if not persistent.

We start the show with some general talk about the series (in which Collin gets the order of best to worst all wrong) and move into talking about the latest release.  Be warned, the last part of the show (from about the 19:00 minute mark) is a heavy spoiler zone.  We give ample warning in the show as well. If you're already exhausted by Star Wars talk I completely understand.  Hopefully we don't make it too boring.

This week Collin picked the 2015 animated feature Home.  After I ask my 5 questions, we discuss how movies with overly familiar plots can be rescued from blandness.  Whether or not Home gets rescued is also discussed.

Also this week we watched quite a few holiday shows, and we caught up with Ant-Man. We'll discuss them all in rapid-fire fashion.

Tis the season to blow the dust off the Christmas DVDs and watch those classics that we haven't watched since last year.  Does Christmas Vacation fit into that "classic" category? Well, if an annual viewing is the criteria then I guess I'll have to say yes.  It's not my favorite, but it's right on that list with A Christmas Story, It's a Wonderful Life and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (Oh yeah-the MST3K version is in the Wiley cannon and I will brook no arguments) as necessary Christmas viewing around here.  Still, this is the first time Collin has been allowed to watch because of some saucy language.

Also, we have a short discussion about Pixar's newest, The Good Dinosaur.
