Pain Reframed

88: It’s Your Presence That is So Important | Dr. Marc Ringel

Dr. Marc Ringel joins us on Pain Reframed to discuss the humanistic perspective on healthcare. Dr. Ringel has served in so many different aspects of the healthcare profession, but his perspective on the humanistic side is very powerful. This week, Marc, Jeff, and Tim will be talking about what it is to be human and how to deliver kind care. The power of touch and face-to-face communication can’t be replaced with technology, no matter how helpful technology is for us.

Also, as a philosophy major, Dr. Ringel became interested in the history of science and in the "mind-body problem." For most of his career Dr. Ringel has written, spoken, and consulted on issues related to medical informatics and telemedicine.

Save the date!! March 8-10, 2019 in Denver, Colorado, the Align Conference returns! This year’s focus is on movement and pain.
