  • Episode 16 : Tea Dragon Society
Sometimes, you need a break from reading those heavy, heart-wrenching stories. The Tea Dragon Society by Kate O'Neill is just the fluffy, decadent graphic novel to cleanse your palate and put a smile on your face. Also, Rachel was so tired recording this, she got the title of the book Acquicorn Cove wrong. Should've drank some Tea Dragon tea to wake up. You can find all her recs by their correct titles at http://chattlibrary.org

  • Episode 15 : The Canyon's Edge
Lyn's pick this week is a new J Fic survival novel that takes place in the Arizona desert and that is mostly written in poem form. Big emotions and big scenery combine to make for a big adventure! Reserve your copy of Dusti Bowling's 2020 novel, The Canyon's Edge, at http://chattlibrary.org

  • Episode 12 : A Cloud of Outrageous Blue
Lyn's recommendation this week is historical fiction set during the Great Plague of 1348, which sounds potentially gross and actually scary in the middle of the pandemic, but which is really quite beautiful, both visually and thematically, so don't be afraid to add A Cloud of Outrageous Blue by Vesper Stamper to your TBR pile.

  • Episode 11 : Superman Smashes the Klan
Love DC & Marvel comics? Wish they related more to contemporary social issues? Boy, does Rachel have the graphic novel for you! Superman Smashes the Klan features everyone's favorite building-leaping, train-beating superhero doing what he does best: smashing racists and saving the day. Find this title and many more DC comics at http://chattlibrary.org

  • Episode 10 : Raybearer
Lyn's got a brand-new 2020 Afrofantasy novel to recommend especially for the 6th-8th grade readers out there--Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko. Great, big world-building fantasy and exciting, wide-ranging action adventure narratives combine along with a cursed child/coming of age plot, and it fits perfectly in that hard-to-find age range. Also, Lyn apologizes in advance that her accent makes it impossible to understand that she's saying RAYBEARER.
