SCHOOL SHOPPING COSTS - On his first day of August, many families are turning their attention to back-to-school shopping. During the next couple weeks, students across the country will head back into the classroom. A new report from the National Retail Federation shows families with children in K-12 schools spend an average of $874.68 dollars on school supplies, clothes and electronics. This is the second highest amount in the survey's history. College students are expected to spend more than $1,365 on the upcoming school year. This comes as a Wallethub report found 86% of parents think the cost of education is out of control. Nicole D’Antonio is live in Washington DC with details.

Jared reports on the "White Dudes for Harris" fundraising efforts, which brought in $3.5+ million for the Harris campaign. Retired Police Lt. Steve Hauck joins JMN to discuss security leadership protocols that could have prevented the security vulnerabilities evident from the attempted assassination of former President Trump at a Pennsylvania rally last month. A Congressional inquiry has already resulted in leadership changes in the US Secret Service, where testimony revealed a number of preventable security errors.
