Jaden’s Law

We talk to the mother of Jaden Phillips about a proposed legislation, bill H 3602, “Jaden’s Law.” The bill is of great significance to Jaden’s family after tragically losing their 19 year old son in a boating accident. “Jaden’s Law” is designed to address critical gaps in the South Carolina’s response system for boating accents. It would enact new requirements for 911 dispatchers to access injuries and the nature of the accident. Additionally, it would implement improvements on how law enforcement agencies are notified and work together to properly investigate accidents involving deaths and homicides. Jaden’s mother seeks to give him a voice and improve the current system in hopes it helps other families.
