He currently has 3 mixtapes available on Spotify with a debut album set to drop later this year. In this conversation, Swavay shares which rappers can actually hoop, what a Metro Boomin studio session looks like, and the advice he's received from James Blake.

We got on a Zoom call at the end of June and talked about his journey to LA, the insignificance of Instagram clout, and his desire to create physical art that exists beyond the Internet.

dj poolboi is the moniker of Austin Texas' resident Adam Ansley. In 2017, he started quietly releasing lo-fi house music under the moniker as a side project. An upload of his track "we can be happy" on the popular EELF YouTube channel began to pick up viral attention. With a strong visual presence from his music videos, poolboi has amassed millions of views and attracted industry interest. He is now signed by Majestic Casual and has landed coveted opening gigs across North America.

Back in November 2019, I sat down with Justice Der, a young guitarist who has a YouTube channel with over 200K+ subscribers where he covers popular songs that he puts his own jazzy spin on. We discuss his YouTube origin, producing, and how he balances creative pursuits with everyday responsibilities.
