It is a pleasure to welcome actress, fight choreographer, and professional stuntwoman Michelle Lee to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

Born in Long Beach, California, Michelle moved to Taiwan right after birth and spent the first five years of her life with her grandmother, where she became fluent in Chinese. When she returned to the United States and Los Angeles County, Michelle experienced a big culture shock due to the language barrier and culture change. To get her out of her shell, Michelle’s mom pushed her to take acting classes, leading her to pursue work as a child actor.

While continuing her education, Michelle Lee took high school martial arts classes. After she graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles, Michelle auditioned for a role of a “fighter.” She booked the gig with her martial arts background and discovered she would fight alongside legendary actor Chow Yun-fat in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End.

From there, Michelle began booking stunt and fight work in various blockbuster films, and television series such as Bullet Train, the Last Airbender, Olympus Has Fallen, and Pacific Rim. Currently, Michelle Lee stars in Paramount+’s Blood & Treasure. The series is a high-stakes action adventure that centers around a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief collaborating to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasures. As they chase the terrorist around the world, they are in the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for “the cradle of civilization.”

In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Michelle Lee spoke about starring in both the DC Extended Universe (Suicide Squad) and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (Black Widow and Venom). She teased her character, Violet, and her role on Blood & Treasure.

It is a pleasure to welcome award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Carleton Stone to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

The Nova Scotia, Canada native, recently dropped his latest solo and self-produced album, Papercut. Through the sax-blasted Americana with power-pop and 1980s synthesizers, Carleton blurs musical genres to explore several tumultuous years and asks two difficult questions: “What the hell have I done?” and “What if I had gone down some other path?”

Papercut is one of Carleton’s strongest and most forthcoming albums, thanks to innate songwriting skills. Listeners will follow him as he plumbs the depths of an emotional roller coaster ride. The album also features several talented musicians, including bassist Liam Jaeger, percussionist Howie Beck, cellist Kevin Fox, trumpeter Tom Moffett, saxophonist Julian Nalli, and vocalists Erin Costelo and Mel Stone.

  • Episode #191: Lauren Minear TALKS Music & New York
Lauren Minear is a Nashville-raised singer-songwriter set to release her debut album, Invisible Woman, out October 14.

She is steeped in the vulnerability of Nashville soul, the real deal; tender and passionate, yet raw and brutally honest songwriting in the lineage of Joni Mitchell, Lucinda Williams, and Gillian Welch. Like these women, Lauren wears her heart on her sleeve as she explores the corners of love through a fragile lens of self-awareness, evoking the likes of Anais Mitchell, Taylor Swift, and Natalie Merchant.

Born in Manhattan, Lauren's family moved to Nashville, where she grew up, spending her formative years sharing her parents' love of Brooks & Dunn, KD Lang, Garth Brooks, and Patsy Cline. She also immersed herself in the sounds from the country music radio stations they tuned into on their regular drives from the city to New Orleans to visit her grandparents and the southern soul there, radiating out of The Big Easy.

Memorizing songs by Faith Hill, Amy Grant, Mariah Carey, and Shania Twain, and with Nashville songwriting seemingly steeped in her blood, Lauren Minear wrote her first song, "Daddy's Little Girl," at 14 years old, and soon found herself interning on Music Row at Major Bob Music, at Sony ATV Publishing and in the studio with Steve Earle as well as performing and recording an EP with guitarist George Marinelli (Bonnie Raitt).

Now a Mother of two little boys and again living in New York with Madi Diaz, Brandi Carlile, Allison Russell, and YEBBA on her stereo, Lauren's journey has been far from just musical; her life has given her a rich and varied tapestry of experiences from which to draw as a songwriter. A transformative journey that has given her confidence and power, Lauren's artistry and songwriting skills were rekindled when she became a mother. This process changed her perception of the world and herself and brought her back to music and the spiritual therapy of creativity.

  • Episode #190: Jack Williams TALKS 'AGT' Experience
It is a pleasure to welcome one of my favorite acts from America’s Got Talent (AGT): Season 17, comedian ventriloquist Jack Williams, to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

Jack is a stand-up comedian ventriloquist that amassed a TikTok following with 1.2 million followers, and his videos received over 29.9 million likes. He has spent years auditioning for the NBC talent competition, but Jack received the green light to audition in front of the AGT judges (Simon Cowell, Sofia Vergara, Howie Mandel, and Heidi Klum). Jack Williams introduced the world to Foster, making the audience laugh as he switched voices with his puppet. After receiving a standing ovation from all four judges, Jack received a unanimous “Yes” to the next round.

Jack Williams was one of the lucky 55 acts to compete for America’s votes. During his semifinal performance, Jack introduced a new friend, Dale, to the AGT audience as he tried to complete fan-submitted ventriloquist challenges. However, Foster was not having it and interrupted the performance. Foster took his revenge on Jack and made him sound like both Simon and former President Barack Obama; Jack received another standing ovation from the Got Talent creator and was named a Top Five semifinalist.

In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Jack Williams went through his entire AGT journey, including receiving praise from Simon and making it into the Top Five. He also revealed how he developed both Foster and Dale as characters and if he would return to compete on an AGT spin-off.

  • Episode #189: Alexander Beatz & Lonely Child TALK MIDDLESPOON
It is a pleasure to welcome MIDDLESPOON to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

MIDDLESPOON is the brainchild, passion project and life mission of Alexander Beatz. Working with producers and songwriters Lonely Child, Jinx McGee, and MSTR WTVR, he has crafted a set of “Pop with Purpose.” He described this phrase as thoughtful pop songs that include hip-hop swagger, electronic pop’s shimmer, and disco’s irresistible dance beat.

MIDDLESPOON’s debut album, Brightside, catalyze Alexander Beatz’s optimistic point of view and philosophies on love. Each song on the record examines a type of love from Eros to Agape and Platonic to Familial. Even with this lofty concept, the songs are full of catchy hooks and slick productions that were inspired by Bruno Mars, Charlie Puth, Jamiroquai, and Justin Timberlake.

In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Alexander Beatz and Lonely Child shared MIDDLESPOON’s origin story and their single: “Crush On U.” They also spoke about receiving acclaim from Billboard and OUT Magazine.
