  • Episode #102: Jay Starrett TALKS 'Survivor' & 'The Challenge
It is a pleasure to welcome Jay Starrett to The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast!

Jay Starrett became a household name when he made his debut on Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X. Throughout the 36 days, he won 10 challenges, orchestrated Michaela Bradshaw’s blindside and built a powerful bond with the show’s eventual winner Adam Klein. However, he exited the game at sixth place once he mistakenly played a fake idol created by David Wright.

In 2018, Jay made his MTV debut on Ex on the Beach 2, where he showed up as one of the exes of Big Brother: Over the Top winner Morgan Willett. While the duo tried to work on their differences, Jay and Morgan broke up.

In 2020, Jay made history as being the first competitor from the Survivor USA franchise to compete on The Challenge. Jay Starrett’s debut on The Challenge: Total Madness saw him compete in three purgatory games, where he won two red skulls after defeating fellow rookie Asaf Goren and show icon Chris “CT” Tamburello. Sadly, he was eliminated from the season after he was medically disqualified from the “Fire Ball’ challenge due to showing signs of a concussion.

Recently, Jay returned to The Challenge for the Double Agents season. He partnered with Teresa Jones, who made her return to the franchise after a five-year absence. The duo won the mini-final challenge: Smuggle Run and won $6,000. As Double Agents, they were also able to take out two-time champion Ashley Mitchell successfully. Unfortunately, that game move targeted the duo, and eventually, Jay was sent out of the season by retiring fan-favorite Leroy Garrett in the Fire Escape elimination game.

In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Jay Starrett spoke about his experiences on Survivor, Ex on the Beach, and The Challenge. He also shared the origin story of the Stay Loco lifestyle brand.

  • Episode #101: Actress-Singer Sasha Allen VISITS!
It is a pleasure to welcome actress and singer Sasha Allen to The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast.

Sasha Allen began her career when she was cast as Dee in the 2003 cult film Camp and won audiences over on VH1's Born to Diva. Throughout the 2000s, Sasha sang background vocals for Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, John Legend, and Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds. In 2009, she portrayed Dionne in the 2009 revival of Broadway classic Hair at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. In 2010, she reprised the role when she joined the West End revival.

In 2013, Sasha Allen returned to Reality TV to compete on the fourth season of NBC's singing competition, The Voice. She caught all four coaches' attention (Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Shakira, and Usher) in the Blind Auditions round with her powerful interpretation of the Chicks' "Not Ready to Make Nice." She selected the Maroon 5 frontman to be her coach, but sadly he eliminated her during the Battle Rounds. Thankfully, Shakira stole her, and Sasha went all the way to the Live Rounds, where she made it to the Semifinals rounds.

Several years after her Voice experience, Sasha toured across the United States in the revival of the Broadway musical: Pippin. She landed the role of "The Leading Player." In 2016, she joined the Rolling Stones on their America Latina Ole Tour as a backing vocalist. During the tour, she sang the iconic "Gimme Shelter" with Mick Jagger. On that tour, the Rolling Stones performed in front of 500,000 people at Havana's Ciudad Deportiva de La Habana in Cuba.

In this edition of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Sasha spoke about performing with the Rolling Stones in Cuba and revealed if she was interested in returning to The Voice if the show incorporated an All-Stars or Champions format.
