Raven is an emerging artist from Melbourne. At only 16 years old, he’s set to release his debut album, Wrench, later in 2018. Raven writes emotional and genuine music that is a blend of folk and rock. Anna Scionti (pronounced Shon-tee) is a Melbourne based singer-songwriter, guitarist and slide guitar player. On cigar box guitar, resonator, lap steel and stomp you will be immersed deep into her world of electrified dirty rhythmic blues.

​Whether creating catchy music on  lap steel, six-string guitar, or on a one, three or four-string cigar box guitar, you will hear deep, honest, dirty blues.

Picture Peter Pan sporting a shaved head in a pair of sneakers dropping bookworm bravado. You have Defron. Nostalgic of simpler days when life was just wearing-out your favourite cartoon on VHS, this 26 year-old Melbourne emcee combines confessional song-writing with abstract braggadocio to provide hip-hop that same release from the mundane.

Today Defron teaches English, creative writing, debating & poetry, as well as running the hip-hop & electronica department at Victorian non-profit youth music organisation The Push. He is currently independently running hip-hop workshops & demonstrations at schools, youth-services and universities as well as working on two new music projects, one with his band Kilamari and the other his second solo effort, “Maybe You’ll Be Famous When You’re Dead” all originally produced by friend and close collaborator Calvin Irons.

The Willie Wagtails are a bunch of old mates who play a unique blend of ocker jazz-folk music. They seek to make connections with Australian history, landscape and politics in their songwriting and their energetic, discordant music smells like the bush. Combined with a penchant for the dinky-di vernacular and fondness of the great outdoors, The Willie Wagtails set out to remind us of our Aussie roots; the dreamtime, the early settlers, the Aussie battlers, and the late-night servo meat pie.

Jeremiah and Ellie of The Willie Wagtails join Miller in the Jam Sessions studio to perform songs from their latest album, Strathbogie.

Kerryn Fields is a New Zealand-born, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter who has very quickly become a key player in Australia’s folk music scene. Having performed alongside artists such as Tash Sultana, Liz Stringer and Suzannah Espie, Kerryn talks with Miller about her adventures as a musician, her songwriting practice, and how a community of artists have rallied around her in support of her treatment in managing a lifelong chronic illness.

Kerryn performs four songs live in studio, including: Until You, Escape, Broken Down Heart and Mama.
