A veteran of over 900 NHL games and a Stanley Cup Champion, Jamal Mayers sat down with Cam and Andy to talk about his impressive playing career. Growing up in Toronto with a single mother, playing in the NHL was the farthest thing in Mayer's mind. Under his mother's guidance, Mayers took the college route where he played at Western Michigan University en route to being drafted by the St. Louis Blues. A rugged winger, Mayers earned it the hard way by carving out a career playing physical and dropping the gloves. He says he didn't really enjoy fighting but was willing to do whatever it took to continue his career. Mayers discusses his time in St. Louis along with not-so-good memories playing for his hometown Toronto Maple Leafs. He discusses his memories of being a part of a Stanley Cup-winning team with the Chicago Blackhawks where he currently works as a television analyst. He also talks about his role in growing the game in the inner city of Chicago. Enjoy the conversation with one of the more well-rounded players to come thru St. Louis. Oh and those dyed eyebrows in the 1999-2000 playoffs!
