Almost four years ago, Kibride' s James Foley, decided to mix playing football with being a referee. It has gone well for him and after taking charge of a number of underage and adult county finals in Carlow last year, he refereed his first senior competitive inter-county game when Wexford played Kildare in the 2023 O'Byrne Cup. 
Here he talks about his experiences so far as a referee while he reflects on his role as Chairman of his beloved Kilbride club where his entire family are involved in some way or another.
