Some people and groups are better known for what they are against than what they are for. It happens in Christian circles as well. We can be seen as being against certain philosophies, ideologies and lifestyle choices instead of what we stand for. We stand for grace, compassion, forgiveness and love. We long for everyone to be in a vibrant relationship with the sovereign God of this universe. After Paul has explained how we shouldnt live, he now focuses on how we should liveon what we should be like.

We all long to be loved. Loved by friendsfamilyin a relationship. The yearning of our heart, no matter how hard we try to fill it with other seemingly satisfying choices, can only be filled by the love God offers us. Yet, the mystery of Christmas is as mesmerizing as it is unbelievable. Did God the Son really enter time and space? Did He truly love me enough to extend grace and pardon so I could be adopted into His family and embraced as the Fathers child? Is this the fabric on which all reality is woven from and built upon or as fictitious as Santa, Frosty and Rudolph.

All too often we search for answers in places that were never intended to provide those answers for. We search for fulfilment in a career or a relationship. We search for peace in some type of ethereal experience. We search for meaning in our job, family or hobby. We establish rituals and even superstitions in order to guard the answers weve found some semblance of satisfaction in. But then the answers weve discovered are fragile and brittle. In this message we are reminded that the all satisfying one is Christ who is the cornerstone of life.

The dominant cultural narratives of our day can drown out our Christian influence leaving us with the impression that Christianity is impotent and irrelevant. Nothing is further from reality. Christ is the manifest presence of God. The entire universe is subject to His authority. How do we live in a way that we see His glorious power when faced with opposing views that at times even want to eliminate His impact.

Join us as we grow in our understanding of who Christ is, what He has done and what He has accomplished for us.

Whether it be capitalism, consumerism, classism, sexism, racism, liberalism. Marxism, socialism, environmentalism, to name a few philosophies influence us. How do we ensure that our ideological perspective and philosophy is aligned with a Christ-honoring, gospel centered grounding and isnt swayed by the current isms of our day? How do we respond to God's gracious gift? - Life gets in the way. Were busy working, studying, switching careers, buying cars or homes, moving, helping others move, raising children, schooling children, running to appointmentsthe list seems endless. We see our relationship with God as something else we need to do. Gathering with other believers becomes a chore. Service as burdensome. The gospel is in addition to our life instead of its centerpiece. Today we examine how we can respond to Gods gracious gift.
