You asked and I answered! Actually you didn’t ask for anything, I just gave this to you because I’m SUCH a nice person. Ya’ll it’s Divya Gunasekaran on the podcast this week and she’s one of our greatest local Brooklyn comedy treasures here to chat all about what keeps pushing her to comede (word the act of doing comedy that I just made up) for us all so happily. Although a bit sick, she dons her most elegant of Owl nightgowns and perseveres to give us some relatable anecdotes about her own struggles with self doubt, the difficulties of starting out and having to grind to get anywhere, and how she stays consistent and copes. Fear not though, she also goes absolutely IN on soup and its sodium levels, lets us know she’s still grateful for it all and finishes off with a gorgeous fantasy day in her life that you’ll end this one feeling incredibly relaxed after such a spa experience of a conversation. Follow her on social media to keep up with where she’s performing next because chances are, it’s probably near you (if you’re in New York, at least).

Friends, this episode I’m about to drop into your eager tasty palms is such a beautiful nugget of love that I almost want to keep it entirely for myself. JUST KIDDING that would very much defeat the purpose of the entire recording! But srsly, our guest this week- Esther Fallick- is such a gorgeous talent with a heart of, dare I say, GOLD, that I floated on cotton candy clouds for the remainder of the day after this. We discuss many a thing with many of those things being some complicated things to discuss. I’m talkin’ gender identity and dysphoria, sexuality, the ebbs and flows of life in transition, but of course Eshter’s many influences, her path, the tough year she’s had, her fantasy of a mentally healthy day, and lastly but absolutely not leastly, her jams. Listen with an open heart in order for that puppy to fill right on up, because this was chicken soup for the sensitive musical theater and comedy nerd who also is into the muppets and crying on the train’s soul.
What do you get when you mix the power of the DCOM original Twitches with the brains of Steven Jobs if he felt like writing comedy, the beauty of an airbrushed 80s romance novel, the fashions of a reimagined Limited Too in Bushwick and the talent of ten Celine Dions?! Sabina and Annabel Meschke, twin superstar comedians. THAT’S WHO! Sabina and Annabel are a dynamic duo like no other who perform stand up all around NYC in the ~hottest~ looks you’ve ever seen. They’re well known for their twice-monthly show, Triplet Auditions, but also have some of the most original and hilarious sketches the interwebs have ever seen. In this gorgeous ep, we get right into their mental struggles, coping mechanisms, how their first couples therapist tried to tear their family apart, what’s really yanking their chain through vent seshes, and ssssss’much more. Listen if you DARE. Actually, please listen, you’ll really enjoy it. I’m telling you.
Were you looking for a light and fun convo surrounding content, producing, and all things comedy making today? Oh great, see, I already knew that which is why I brought in Tess Tregellas, comedian, producer, and improviser, to chat up her methods, to-do lists, solutions and advice in her jammies with me. Tess is hilarious and DRIVEN, hunny. This girl churns out videos like it’s nothin’ and has a great time doing it. We get into the ways she stays fresh on her ideas, how she’s switching things up every few months, and the community she relies on to help her get her ideas out there and accomplish goals. Tess reminded me to cross more stuff off my to-do list today but also that even the most accomplished and productive people need to remember to say no to opportunities and take time for themselves. Settle in with a snack (I’m personally on a Pirate’s Booty only diet right now) and get comfy for a SPICY, geeky comedy convo you won’t wanna miss and follow Tess on all of her socials to get in on all the fun!

Boy oh boyyyy, this episode is a real mfkin’ TREAT with creative queen, Anna Salinas. Anna is a tv writer, improviser, filmmaker, and creator of her own viral comic, Bad Comix by Anna. When I tell you her work is the most relatable, vulnerable and original I’ve ever seen, UGH! I could die. We get all up into this conversation about her path, some downfalls where her mental health took a toll, how she’s used her work to cope, and so so so much more. I don’t think I need to say much else other than ~enjoy~ because this one felt like a TED talk your sister was inspired by and dm’d to you on instagram with a “You could totally do this. You should work for her! She’s probably so cool!” (Bless your sister’s heart).

Say it ain’t so, it’s the season 1 finale of Jammies by 8!! But don’t cry, sweeties because this episode of Jammies has the one, the only, KING of gabagool himself, Joey Dardano. You might know Joey from his many viral tiktoks, his stand up performances all around NYC, or his appearances on HBOMax, A&E and in the New York Comedy Festival. In this episode though, Joey joins me to discuss anything and everything hot (and sad) boi shit related. We touch on a plethora of different topics surrounding how he deals with his own depression and anxiety as an entertainer, his come-up as a lifelong performer, how he pushes through his own self doubt and the responsibility of a comedian to not always respond to every comment. We also pledge our love to Uniqlo for their large selection of heattech clothing and discuss how we specifically take our BEC’s. If you’re a fan of New York City, Italian accents, and IBS then you do NOT want to miss this episode!

Matt Buechele, writer for the Tonight Show, composer, viral sensation and all around hangs with me as we dive deep into his artistic pathway, his hip childhood cig-smoking piano teacher, the burnout he faced when taking on odd jobs as a temp before getting hired, when opportunity strikes before you’re ready, the goods and bads of social media for our mental health, and soooo much more. Matt also shares about his album ‘I Felt Insane’- available wherever you listen to albums, I’m sure- and I cannot lie (because I’m horrible at doing so anyway), every song on it slaps!! One of those things you listen to on your way to Trader Joe’s and do an inaudible “good heavens!” when it hits your ears. Enjoy this earnest chat in your own jams and have a nice laugh at his mountains of online content!

Ya’ll, this week on the podcast, Chicago-turnt-New York City comedian Garrett Williams joins us for a conversation led by me about nothing and everything at the same time. You may know him from his many viral videos on tik tok and instagram or maybe you’ve seen him IRL at some of his shows. We get deep into it chatting the path of an artist taking shape in many forms, how the internet turns content into quantitative works of art, his moving journey to New York City, our twin enneagram numbies (that’s numbers), and of course, the massage that changed his life and outlook on his career. I’m so excited that I got to squeeze this episode in with Garrett and secure my spot as cool in his eyes before he takes off flying into success in the New York comedy scene because we had a friggin BAWL, baby.
Trigger warning: This episode discusses the likely inaccurate details of a murder that occurred near my apartment. Although discussed in a lighthearted manner, I understand the sensitivity of the subject matter and do not take it lightly.

Pretty much right away, we dive into the good stuff about how she has built up her mental health, self-care and manifestation routines, balancing what she gives out with what she puts in, leaving an authentic legacy she can be proud of without fear of other people’s opinions, her own anxiety, and celebrating the wins even when she’s alone. In this episode, Chanel gives out some amazingly useful tips and resources, such as the book “God, If You’re Not Up There, I’m F*cked” by Darrel Hammond, the book “Born Standing Up” by Steve Martin, and the Abortion Access Front which you can follow on Instagram and donate to as well from their linktree.
