日本女性の就労割合は、M字を描くことが特徴である。

20代は、就労率が上がるが、30代ごろから減少に転じ、40代後半ごろから再び増加に転じるのである。

これは、女性が子育て等の諸事情のために離職せざるを得ない状況にあることを物語っている。

したがって、女子大生の就職活動もこうした「働き方」を考えたうえで行わなければならない。女子大生は、「一般職」と「総合職」との2択を迫られることがある。

「一般職」では、各部署におけるサポート的な労務が中心となる。

したがって重い責任や転勤もないので、ゆとりがある労務形態となる。

その反面、給与はあまり上がらず昇進も期待はできない。

一方、「総合職」は、専門的な技能や知識を活かしつつ、第一線で仕事をすることとなる。

そのため責任も重く、転勤や残業は当然のように課せられる。

ただし、その成果は、昇進の際に評価され、給与にも反映される。

女性の場合、妊娠・出産・子育てという点においては、どうしても男性より負担が大きくなってしまうことは、否めない。

それに加えて、日本では、働く女性のためのサポート体制が充足しているとは言いがたい。

したがって女子大生は、自分のライフスタイルについて、就職活動の段階で、ある程度覚悟を決めておく必要がある。

極論を言えば、家庭を取るなら「一般職」、社会進出を取るなら「総合職」と、ある程度腹をくくらなければならないのだ。

昨今、こうした「一般職」「総合職」といったわけ方をせず、多様な働き方を認める企業も増えてきている。

しかし、女子大生にとって、「一般職」「総合職」のどちらを選択するかは、いまだに就職活動における大きな悩みどころなのである。

そのはんめん、きゅうよはあまりあがらずしょうしんもきたいはできない。

いっぽう、「そうごうしょく」は、せんもんてきなぎのうやちしきをいかしつつ、だいいっせんでしごとをすることとなる。

そのためせきにんもおもく、てんきんやざんぎょうはとうぜんのようにかせられる。

ただし、そのせいかは、しょうしんのさいにひょうかされ、きゅうよにもはんえいされる。

じょせいのばあい、にんしん・しゅっさん・こそだてというてんにおいては、どうしてもだんせいよりふたんがおおきくなってしまうことは、いなめない。

それにくわえて、にっぽんでは、はたらくじょせいのためのサポートたいせいがじゅうそくしているとはいいがたい。

したがってじょしだいせいは、じぶんのライフスタイルについて、しゅうしょくかつどうのだんかいで、あるていどかくごをきめておくひつようがある。

きょくろんをいえば、かていをとるなら「いっぱんしょく」、しゃかいしんしゅつをとるなら「そうごうしょく」と、あるていどはらをくくらなければならないのだ。

さっこん、こうした「いっぱんしょく」「そうごうしょく」といったわけほうをせず、たようなはたらきほうをみとめるきぎょうもふえてきている。

しかし、じょしだいせいにとって、「いっぱんしょく」「そうごうしょく」のどちらをせんたくするかは、いまだにしゅうしょくかつどうにおけるおおきななやみどころなのである。

Female university students are pushed into 2 choices: "Non-career track (general office work)" or "career track (regular position)."

The main focus of general office work is work support for each department.

Thus there are no heavy responsibilities and there is a fair amount of leeway.

On the downside, there are few salary increases and you cannot expect a promotion.

Contrarily, "regular position" jobs offer a chance of promotion, where you can take advantage of specialized knowledge and skills, and work on the front-line.

Because of this, there are lots of responsibilities, and so job transfers and overtime are imposed as a matter of course.

As a result of this, this will be reflected when you are promoted and also in your salary.

It cannot be denied that in the case of women, the burden is bigger than for men from the point of view of pregnancy, giving birth, and raising children.

In addition, in Japan, it is difficult to say that the support system for working women is sufficient.

Therefore, for female university students, to a certain extent it is necessary to decide one's own lifestyle when at the stage of job-hunting.

To put it extremely, these students have to accept their fate by choosing general office work if they want to have children, or a regular position if they are keen to move up through the company.
