Bible in a Year: Journey Towards the Promise Land
Scripture
The LORD replied, 'My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.'
Exodus 33:14
Many people want God’s blessings without His presence. They want things from God but they don’t want God active in their lives, guiding and leading them. But the Israelites knew that going to the Promise Land wouldn’t be the same without God’s presence.
This episode of Bible in a Year captures a critical moment where Moses seeks assurance of God's presence. After the incident of the golden calf, the Israelites find themselves at a spiritual crossroads. Moses, recognizing the need for divine guidance, pleads for God's continued presence. This chapter highlights the vital importance of seeking God, especially in times of uncertainty and failure.
Moses' tent, set outside the camp, becomes a place of meeting with God. Here, the profound dialogue between Moses and God unfolds, illustrating an intimate relationship. Moses’ bold request, "Show me your glory," and God's gracious response reveal that in our deepest needs and uncertainties, God is willing to meet us and reveal Himself.

EXODUS 34:6
As I rise today I will set my heart on the cry of Moses and ask for You to show me Your glory! Give me divine understanding so that I can know and discern the directions You want me to take. I confess that I cannot move unless Your presence goes before, like Exodus 33-40. I acknowledge today that a promise without Your presence is no promise at all, for my heart desires to be close to You. Therefore, I will make the posture of my heart my priority and not material things, I will desire the Giver more than the gifts because I know that the blessings You give me, Lord, are a byproduct of me seeking Your heart. Thank You Heavenly Father that You desire to spend time with me and to walk with me through life’s ups and downs. In this moment… right now… I will lift my hands and worship You, for Your unfailing love and devotion to my life. My promise is before me, and more importantly Your presence is surrounding me. With this as my truth I know I am unstoppable because You will stop at nothing to bless me, because even with my mistakes You still love me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾
