Jason Momoa BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.

Jason Momoa has spent the past few days stepping squarely back into the global spotlight, with Hollywood trades and entertainment sites zeroing in on a single major storyline: his new Amazon MGM action comedy The Wrecking Crew and the broader lifestyle brand he is building around it. Deadline, IMDb News, and outlets like FirstShowing and Comic Basics all reported on the debut of the first trailer for The Wrecking Crew, highlighting Momoa and Dave Bautista as estranged half brothers forced to team up in Hawaii after their fathers mysterious death to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy, with Momoa playing the wild card cop opposite Bautistas disciplined Navy SEAL. Aloha State Daily notes the film was shot in Hawaii and New Zealand and is set to stream globally on Prime Video on January 28, positioning it as his next tentpole after Aquaman and Chief of War and a potentially important chapter in his long term transition from franchise superhero to bankable action comedy lead.

At the same time, lifestyle and regional press in the Gulf are tracking Momoa not just as a movie star but as a touring personality. Gulf News and ticketing platforms like Platinumlist and Bandsintown report that he will be in Dubai on January 28 for the launch of the Meili Festival at The Agenda, performing as bassist with his band Oof Tatata in what is being billed as their Dubai debut and a statement that his music ambitions are no mere vanity project but part of a broader creative pivot. Event listings from SevenRooms further promote a Jason Momoa Behind the Bar night at Sushisamba Dubai on January 27, where he is expected to appear in person for a branded Meili spirits activation. Those Dubai appearances double as marketing for his Meili vodka brand and cement him as a lifestyle entrepreneur as much as an actor.

On social media, fan accounts and entertainment pages are amplifying the Wrecking Crew trailer and the Dubai dates, often speculating about a mini regional tour or surprise Aquaman style cosplay moments at the festival, but any talk of new franchise casting, secret DC cameos, or fresh long term streaming deals remains unconfirmed and should be treated as rumor until picked up by major outlets.

Jason Momoa BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.

Jason Momoa is closing out the holiday stretch and stepping into the new year with that signature mix of blockbuster brawn and playful hustle that keeps him firmly in the A list conversation. The biggest biographical move of the past few days is the full on launch of his new buddy action comedy era with Dave Bautista. TechRadar reports that Prime Video has dropped the explosive first trailer for The Wrecking Crew, an Amazon original set in Hawaii that pairs Momoa and Bautista as estranged half brothers thrown together after their fathers mysterious death, chased by the Yakuza while uncovering buried family secrets. Screen Rant and IMDbs news desk echo the same logline and highlight that this is an R rated, joke heavy, set piece packed streamer play positioned as one of Prime Videos first big titles of 2026, a potentially important long term credit in Momoa’s post Aquaman career as he leans harder into action comedy leading man territory.

Industry sites like Punch Drunk Critics are already framing it as the long teased Momoa Bautista team up that fans have been waiting for since their Dune and See chemistry, calling the trailer a blast and emphasizing how the film could cement them as a bankable duo for future projects. That kind of positioning matters, because if The Wrecking Crew hits Road House level streaming numbers, it gives Momoa a sturdy franchise adjacent lane outside the DC turbulence.

On the business and branding side, MediaPost reports that Momoa is back as the face of fintech firm Chime in a new 30 second spot titled New Day, which debuted on Christmas during NBA games and is now running across national TV, digital, social, and streaming. The ad, created by agency Mojo Supermarket, has him playing multiple everyday characters a bodega clerk, barista, and doorman while pitching Chimes fee free, app first banking tools. It is a direct sequel to his fall campaign for the company and quietly underscores his status as a go to mainstream spokesman who can sell blue collar relatability as easily as he swings a trident.

Looking ahead a few weeks, Dubai ticketing site Platinumlist is promoting Meili Society Nights featuring Jason Momoa at The Agenda on January 28, signaling an upcoming high visibility public appearance tied to his Meili brand and lifestyle persona. Any additional social media chatter around the new trailer and the Chime spot is largely amplification of these confirmed projects; speculation about unannounced roles or personal life developments has not been verified by major outlets and should be treated as rumor for now.
