Matt and Steve come back after 3 weeks to talk about the MLB Free Agency Frenzy 2021, where the Toronto Blue Jays saw themselves signing Kevin Gausman and Yimi Garcia, plus a lot of other players signed with new teams. Plus a little bit of CBA talk, some more awards (for Blue Jays players!), Frontier League talk, and they agree that Christmas Lists are not a good thing.
Matt & Steve talk about the off-season awards, and the Blue Jays cleaned up! A handful of silver slugger and a gold glove award but sadly no MVP in sight for Vlad. Also some talk about Charlie Montoyo getting robbed of any Manager of the Year awards, what catcher the Jays might think about trading with Moreno on the rise (hint: his name rhymes with Dirk), and a little CBA talk. Plus a Sens From Home update.
Podcasts we mentioned:
We have a World Series Winner! Congrats to the Atlanta Braves. Steve & Matt talk about the World Series in general, some potential Blue Jays free agent moves and the qualifying offers extended to Ray and Semien (and the likely departure of Steven Matz). Also in the Sens From Home segment, we discuss the not-so-great game results but offset that with some positive news off the ice.
Plus a gripping (or maybe...not so gripping) discussion about the benefits of non-stick frying pans.

Matt & Steve talk about the World Series (or is that Regional Series?) and the potential for Atlanta to be the first team ever to win the World Series on Halloween; also some great news when it comes to awards for the Blue Jays; and talking Sens Hockey and quintessential Ottawa music acts for the in-game experience.

Steve re-joins the podcast after being away for vacation and talks with Matt about the current playoff match-ups, whether or not the Astros have redeemed themselves to baseball viewers, the wealth of news coming out of the Blue Jays camp during the off-season and a brief discussion on what Vlad's 2022 season might look like. Plus, instead of a casual mention of the Ottawa Senators, Matt & Steve do a full check-in with this non-baseball professional hockey club.
On today’s show, Matt chats with @TaoofStieb and Scott Crawford from the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
Tao & Matt talk about playoff baseball, the problematic aspects of rooting for the remaining teams, the Blue Jays offseason plans and Twitter toxicity.
Later, Matt and Scott Crawford look at the inductees to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame that were announced earlier this week. They also look ahead to the induction ceremony next summer for the class of 2020.
Matt’s wife Krista joins him as sidekick/cohost. This week they take the show on the road (aka a stroller walk) and talk about game(s) 162, the first week of playoff baseball, Rowdy Tellez’s dominance in game 1 of the ALDS vs Atlanta and discuss some Blue Jays trade rumours in a vacuum. Later, Matt & Krista lament the return of runny noses and praise all things eggnog.
Today, Matt’s joined by special guest @BlueJaysDad. They talk about the past week of exciting baseball and look ahead to the chaos that awaits (and by now has already unfolded) of game 162.
Later Matt talks about Thanksgiving baseball, offers the players some advice in the upcoming CBA negotiations and talks about his latest baseball read.
Steve's by himself for this week's episode in what was a whirlwind of a week. The Jays went 3-4 against the Rays and Twins, losing 3 in a row during the week but not losing too much ground in the Wild Card race. Steve talks about the "Scouting Report Scandal" with the Rays, Springer's great weekend vs the Twins, and some thoughts on next week's crucial games against the Yankees.
In this week's episode, Matt & Steve are joined by author Jason Love to talk about his book, Slices of Americana: A Road Trip Through American Baseball History. They also talk about the Blue Jays' latest home stand, which included Alek Manoah's dominant performance against the Rays as well as Marcus Semien's 40th home run of the season.
As an update to the Jays talk, Steve speculated giving Ryu some extra rest - it turns out that he was placed on the Injured List with Neck Tightness, so it looks like he will get that extra rest.
