  • Featuring rap artist and director Austin Fair
    Season 2 Episode 11
Today we finally get to talk to Austin Fair who is the cousin to our previous guest Humbeats ,the producer , in our Season 2 episode 2 titled  " Level Up Always" so its my pleasure to informally meet him through remote podcast but that matter at all the chemistry in this interview is so amazing you can tell how genuine of a person Austin Fair is as not only himself but as an artist and director. Austin gives us a complete bio along with an interview that not only focuses on music but a lot to do with growing as a person, rap artist, director, producer, and scholar. This young man at 25 is multi talented exactly why I wanted him on the show he's so motivated to keep on working despite aggravations. The different perspectives we get from Austin is so unique because he gives us a look of how he really feels and not just something he feels should be brought up on social media when it happens but every day we should be caring about these problems. We talk specifically about some of Austin's music some of his exclusives like on YouTube (link below) Theres definitely a light at the end of the tunnel with this covid 19 pandemic but I hope the best for Austin Fair, Humbeats, and the LUA (Level Up Always) group and know the future will be good to them because when they work together it is something amazing a relationship only Austin can express and talk about In this podcast so shoutout Hum always. • Power to the Players
Season 2 Episode 8  Jayy reconnects with a former co worker from his GameStop days. In this podcast you will meet Dana who works in retail at Spencers gifts currently. We talk about how his work has been affected from the COVID-19 pandemic and the real reason he's here today to talk about our former employment at the local GameStop's our interactions with each other,co workers and customers. Both having prior's 5+ years experience at a video game retail store its only appropriate we talk about some of the hottest games during COVID-19 and how to obtain them. Games like Animal Crossing, Mortal Kombat, Ghost of Tsushima, and The Last of Us Pt2. (so potential spoiler alert If you haven't played those games). We then cover some of our experiences while working mentioning some funny pranks that have been played. Both our experiences ended differently but Dana and I's outlook on the company itself hasn't changed we still love GameStop this isn't one of those podcast who sits there and bashes trade ins or return policies we get it trust me, but to us its still a place where memories have been formed and buying games from the people you've been buying them from all the time has grown into a customer employee relationship trusting them whenever they throw out suggestions of video games because they know exactly what we like cause they sell it to us. I've worked at 3 Game Stop locations in Hanover alone 2 of which are demolished or has become a Batteries Plus Bulbs.I also worked at the Derby Street location for quiet some time which no longer exists either. Dana explains how scary it is seeing malls die out because of online shopping and the fears of what the future could hold. I've probably met over a hundred people through the company over the years and me and mostly all of my co workers got along so I'm opening up on the podcast to invite anyone who has formerly worked for the company to come on the podcast we'll do a power to the players part 2 and see if you have crazy stories that are appropriate and non incriminating to share. all I have to say to get you guys on is BIBLE GAME if you know then you know. Dana and I are mutual friends to KillaWisk and Outlandish which he did not know about the previous appearance of them on our season 1 episode 14 but I tell him all about the Brothers of Pod podcast. Dana mentions a future plan of his when time permitting would be to get a live video game stream up and have guest on it which I think would be really cool and fun. If you listen to todays episode of the podcast you will have a chance to win the digital download code for Detective Pikachu. Rest In Peace Josh Knudsen.

  • Making movies with Jake Miller
Season 2 Episode 7 Another of me and my former classmate catches up and talk about this ten year reunion rumor that has been floating around and what would happen with the current situation during the COVID-19 pandemic. We learn what Jake has been up too since high school and his new change of scenery. One of the reasons I asked Jake on the podcast because who better than someone who has a lot of experience as a day player with the behind in the scenes and independent projects as well. Theres so much to appreciate about Jakes description when it comes to his work experience because it really makes you think what goes into movies ,commercials, television shows, ect. Another reason was I know he enjoys pop culture as much as me probably even more so who better than to have someone that can relate to popular movies and what goes into some of those scenes. He paints a picture of both the indie movies and blockbusters.  Obviously a lot of things he couldn't disclose with us because of NDA'S but what he can tell us is so worth the listen alone. We get to hear how COVID 19 has affected Jake's time and work. Another project he works on YouTube is CMFRT_SYSTMS we talk about the summer special and the upcoming season I added a link below. Name drops like Chris Evans and Guy Pierce on movies that Jake has worked behind the scenes in and even stand in experience in one situation. Some long hair and fasting vibes talked but Jake is far from a hippy he explains the benefits of fasting and how rewarding it is to him. His long hair don't care attitude comes from simply having no time and once its grown out he's grown to love it. We learn about the gorilla way to film when shooting at night.  Jake will definitely be returning in a future podcast because I love his input we end it with some good plus go to the website below to not only find his podcast "Dissecting Cinema" but also links to the CMFRT_SYSTMS https://lowreswunderbred.net You can also find Jake on instagram https://www.instagram.com/afilmbyjake/?hl=en to see what Dallas is like or some behind the scenes of what projects he's working on. If you listen to todays episode you'll have a chance at the digital download movie code for the film Rogue One a Star Wars Story.

  • Things you should know when voting with "THOR"
Season 2 Episode 6  In this episode you'll hear a familiar face. Every one that's right returning from our Season 1 finale we reintroduce Ryan Thoresen Carson as this weekends guest. Our guest comes on this time not to recap a season worth of podcast with me but we get into all about what he does and what we should know when voting in both the primary and November Elections. Ive known Ryan for almost all of my life as we attended both elementary and high school together he is one of the smartest people I know and he's an activist and lobbyist something that I'm not too familiar with as far as what you read or god forbid you still watch the news and rely on some of that information, but its something that I think would be a great listen for my listeners regardless of our political views. We find out just how tough if it is to be an organizer but can be so rewarding to you not only mentally but watching things change in the right direction can be exciting. We here about his exact schedule as he explains to us how that can help. He takes us in the actual scene of the rallies he's attended whether it is for his job or he's on the street himself. Fighting for education funding is something that becomes clear in this podcast while I listen to Ryan which I think Is so cool because we started off our season with school staffers and the current COVID-19 pandemic. Ryan tells us the joy that has come out of his activism such as meeting people. TALK TO YOUR NEIGHBORS is something you should definitely take away from this podcast it seems to be something Ryan feels is so important especially in your communities giving us clear examples of how this can help if enough people can organize something or calling up the town officials or whomever in the town is in charge of that. We then dive into the voting portion of questions I have for Ryan which includes things like mail in voting, split decision voting, early voting, and the undecided voter. This November is going to be a huge presidential election and we really don't know what will happen with the COVID-19 Pandemic. Get a little Kanye West and Silent Hill talk in there and boom you've got yourself a full circle pop culture pod. Diablo appears for a couple woofs my apologies on that would edit if it wasn't getting rid of Ryan's answer. If you listen to todays podcast you will have a chance to get The Campaign on digital download. Ryan is also a published poet. You can find his works here in the links I provide. Don't Watch Me Dancing http://www.txtbooks.us/dont_watch_me_dancing Bullhorns in Bed https://payhip.com/b/Du6Y he also mentions one he had just finished with his friend Alex so keep an eye out on that you can do this by visiting his personal Twitter and Instagram Ryan generously gave anyone permission to hit him up for any direction or if you need any information about organizing.
