- Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-18The day after another Soirée Blanche, the rooftop was a little quieter than usual, so this set leaned heavily on familiarity. I opened with recognizable House favorites like Gypsy Woman, Sunny, Keep Pushin', Wake Up! and Show Me Love, gradually moving into a warm, disco-leaning groove. As the afternoon progressed, the set moved between classic House, Nu Disco and soulful grooves, with familiar touchstones like Push The Feeling On, You Got The Love, Brighter Days, Music Sounds Better With You and Bad Girls keeping the crowd connected. The second half became a little more adventurous, moving through Latin-inflected House, Disco and deeper club selections before closing with a more understated groove. A relaxed Tuesday after a big night, with just enough familiarity to keep everyone with me.Track List: Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-18Num. - Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-16A relaxed Sunday on the rooftop, and a fitting encore to the weekend. This one stayed on the subtle side - warm House, Deep House, Disco and increasingly melodic, atmospheric grooves as the afternoon moved toward sunset. Not every track needed to demand attention; some were simply there to create the right atmosphere. The centerpiece came around Star Odyssey, where the music became deeper, more introspective and hypnotic just as the sun was going down. From there, the set slowly found its way back through soulful House and warm grooves to close out another beautiful weekend above the campsite.Maybe a little too chill for some listeners. But for those who stayed, it was a pleasant treat.Rooftop Vibes.Track List: Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-16Num. - Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-14Another full rooftop at the campsite as the sun went down. This one was all about setting the tone for the evening - starting deep and soulful, moving through disco, funk, and house, then gradually bringing the energy up as the sunset gave way to night. As the crowd became a little more mature toward the end, I eased things back and let the groove do the work. A little Josh Wink, some Dave Lee, Dr Packer, Dam Swindle, David Penn, and plenty of soulful house along the way.By the end, the rooftop was ready for the band taking over the main stage.Good music, good sunset, good programming. - Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-13Another full rooftop, another beautiful Riviera evening. This one started with warm House, Deep House and Disco grooves before gradually becoming more soulful, funky and club-oriented as the afternoon went on. Familiar voices, classic sounds and a few deeper left turns kept the vibe moving without ever rushing it.The rooftop stayed busy right through sunset, and the music followed the same trajectory - from laid-back Happy Hour grooves into a proper House journey. No big drama. - Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-12A beautiful summer afternoon turned into something a little more unusual. The set begins in familiar Esterel territory - soulful House, Disco and warm grooves - gradually moving through deeper and more atmospheric territory as the afternoon slips toward sunset. Then, toward the end, the eclipse arrived. The rooftop crowd gathered at the far end with their special glasses, everyone suddenly focused on the sky. I kept the music going, letting the set drift into Afro, Organic and Melodic House as the light changed around us.And when it was time for one last track, there was really only one choice: Another Chance.A soundtrack for an unforgettable sunset, an eclipse, and another beautiful evening on the rooftop.2 hr 38 min
- Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-11Another beautiful Esterel sunset with a rooftop full of familiar faces — and a few new ones discovering the House music coming from the booth. This one stayed close to the familiar Esterel formula: deep grooves, soulful House, a little Disco and Funk, and enough left turns to keep the journey interesting. From the opening House grooves through the deeper middle section and into the more energetic final stretch, the music followed the sunset rather than chasing a particular genre. Not everyone understands House music. And that's okay. The people who stayed understood exactly why they were there.Another evening on the rooftop. Another sunset. Another journey.Track List: Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-11Num. - Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-07Friday evening brought another warm sunset on the rooftop. While many guests gathered downstairs before the night's live entertainment, those who stayed upstairs settled into a laid-back journey through Deep House, Nu Disco and classic House grooves.Starting with warm, melodic textures before easing into soulful vocals, disco rhythms and timeless house records, this set was all about atmosphere rather than big moments. The rooftop closed promptly at 8pm for the evening's stage show, but for a couple of hours we shared another Mediterranean sunset. Thanks to everyone who stayed until the final track. - Esterel Happy Hour 2026-08-06Thursday's Happy Hour started with a full rooftop and an incredible atmosphere as every seat quickly filled for another beautiful evening on the French Riviera. A family from Manchester settled in beside the DJ booth and stayed until the very last track, happily following a few unexpected musical turns along the way. This set blends uplifting Disco, Soulful House, Deep House, and Classic House with a few left-field moments that somehow felt right in the sunset atmosphere. As the evening drew to a close, the music had to make way for the dance show on the main stage downstairs—but not before one more memorable journey across the rooftop. Thanks to everyone who shared another sunset with me at Esterel Caravaning. About jberg Podcast
From the publisher's feed
Hi, I’m John Bergman, aka jberg, a DJ, event promoter, and photographer with a passion for Techno and House. My journey began in Detroit and Chicago, where I immersed myself in the underground scene, digging through record stores and hosting legendary loft parties. I also captured nightlife as a photographer, which earned me a residency at Chicago’s iconic Smartbar.
Later, I moved to Bali and founded “The Bali Party,” gaining recognition as a promoter and DJ while helping shape the island’s electronic music scene. Inspired by legends like Richie Hawtin, Green Velvet, and Carl Cox, my sets range from Deep House sunsets to high-energy Techno.
These days, I spend summers in France, playing five nights a week at Esterel Caravaning Resort, and winters in Bali, bringing vibes to the beach and local bars. Wherever I am, my goal is to create unforgettable moments on the dance floor.
