With Election Day just a couple of days away I find it very important that we all take the opportunity to take a step back. If you have voted, that’s great! However with heightened talks of a potential civil war and civil unrest, the way we choose to respond in the aftermath of this election is going to determine how much more suffering we bring about in what has already been an incredibly difficult year for so many. Let’s not allow our fears of the other side to become a self fulfilling prophesy of more violence to come, we all have a choice of how we respond.

Today is Mental Health Awareness Day. As somebody who has struggled with depression and anxiety, I want to help remove the stigma around talking about our issues in a safe environment and with safe people. If you are struggling these days, you are not alone and I hope everyone can find the right tools in order to deal with the issues in their personal life which are not easy to talk about.

It feels like there is a lot of reactive ness in the world today. My current challenge to myself is to find what I believe in and to then be the change I wish to see in the world.

How can we stay grounded and sane during this tumultuous time we live in? I like many have been personally struggling to find the answers. After a discussion with a close brother of mine I have come away with a new found clarity of what some steps are I can take in my own life, to truly love myself and the world around me. I don’t know everything, I’m open to keep learning, and I am grateful for every single day I get to wake up and try to be better!

We love our Freedom here in America...with a capital F! Some however seem to believe that freedom is totally free. In this episode I discuss what I believe to be the healthy balance between Freedom and Responsibility.

How can we all survive this tumultuous time we are living in? Just in the last few months I have discovered helpful a daily gratitude practice is for taking inventory of what is going right in our lives.

In this installment of My Take I speak to what I see as a deeply prevailing attitude which so many seem to hold in America and how our society can’t survive if this continues.

America is in a fragile state in this moment in history. We are all responsible for this place we call home. We could work together to make a better society but certain things seem more important to many people, I discuss that in this episode of My Take.

Gallup conducted a poll on US National Pride where a record low number of Americans say they are ‘extremely proud’ to be American. JC dives deeper into this poll and gives his thoughts on if he is proud to be an American.

In the first installment of Week by Week JC discusses the surging Covid cases the US has seen this past week, the first major team sport to come back to play, the other sports (specifically baseball) and their plans to come back, and wraps up on a more serious note to discuss America’s relationship to violence and how it relates to the recent protests over the killing of George Floyd.
