In this episode we discuss how the remnants of hurricane Delta will bring in a soggy start to the week. We then explain what to expect for the rest of the week. Lastly, we review hurricane Michael, which made landfall two years ago yesterday in a rare category 5 US landfall.

Delta is weakening, but will still be destructive regardless. The eye wall has already come onshore.

Major hurricane delta is continuing its trek towards the Louisiana Coast, where it is expected to arrive Friday night. Meanwhile, a cold front will move through our area on Saturday and overrunning rains are expected to arrive from Delta’s remnants later Sunday and Monday.

Delta has weakened significantly, but is expected to restrengthen. Coastal LA will likely receive some pretty serious impacts from the storm. Also, we end with a quick lesson on hurricanes.

We are also watching what remains of tropical storm gamma, as well as a new potential tropical cyclone that stands a good chance at intensifying and impacting the US

Two days ago, there was nothing. Yesterday, tropical storm gamma formed in the Caribbean and is almost a hurricane. After it hits the Yucatán, its path remains a mystery. 3 other wave are scattered about the Atlantic, including another in the Caribbean that looks like it could pose a threat to the US Gulf Coast next week.

We’re expect some rain Friday followed by dry but cool weather this weekend. The tropics also seem to be coming back to life as we’re monitoring two tropical waves. Let’s just hope FL is spared this month.
