In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay talks about the concept of Binge Watching, the idea of watching an entire series, or a season of a series in a matter of days. Be it the Netflix show “House of Cards” or a tv show that you didn’t watch when it came out like Breaking Bad or Battlestar Galactica, Darone discusses this new phenomenon.

Darone mentions that while this has grown in the television sphere, he has not enjoyed it in the same way in the podcasting world. A number of his favorite shows (Coverville and The Daily Giz Wiz) have changed format to fewer, but longer episodes, which have actually made the shows less enjoyable for Darone. 

While we have no plan on reducing our shows, Darone wants to know your opinion of our publishing a full week of The Daily Daf Differently at the start of the week rather then putting them out one day at a time. What do you think? We would love to hear your thoughts.

In this episode of The JCast Journey, host Darone Ruskay thinks about his friend Joel Gershon who is creating a new documentary about a circus school in Cambodia, and is attempting to fund this film collectively. What Darone thought was most interesting about Joel’s method is that each time someone makes a donation, he takes the time to publicly thank them on Social Media (read Facebook) and talks about their relationship and the ways in which they have connected in the past, as well as making a public thank you.

This concept made Darone think about asking you, the JCast Network listener to consider donating, and in return Darone will publicly thank you on Facebook. Today Darone talks about the transition to Apple’s iOS 7, his hopes for iTunes Radio and the podcast app on iOS device. Darone had really hoped that iTunes Radio would bring forth a new energy by Apple to focus on podcasts, as they can serve as the “talk radio” section of iTunes Radio, but so far he is quite dissapointed.

In the continuing new feature of this show, Darone promotes Two Minutes of Torah with Rabbi Danny as a great way to get an interesting perspective on the weekly torah portion.
