Michigan loses at the buzzer to the Illini today but thankfully UNC ends a six game losing streak and Roy Williams passes Dean Smith with his 880th win and sole possession of fourth place on the all-time wins list.

Eli Manning a good QB not a great one.  But he did win two SB's.  But listen to the list of some players who won one: Joe Flacco, Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson.  I think the HOF should have great players not good ones.  Eli was great in two postseasons.  But look at his whole career and I see a good player not a HOF one.

I like the proposal of the Super Bowl being played on Saturday by a teenager in New York.  And put the Pro Bowl on Sunday.  Ratings suck for that game anyway.  
No one will ever wear Eli's number 10 ever again.  No more Mannings in the NFL.  
Lakers swept NY the last two nights.  Lebron has a triple double vs the Nets and said they don't need any help come the trade deadline.  That's news to my ears.

Eli is retiring but is he a HOF?  2 SB wins but 117-117 as a starter.  No All-Pro nods in his sixteen year career  Two of the greatest postseasons ever.  And beat the greatest NFL team ever in the 18-0 who became the 18-1 Pats.  
Derek Jeter wasn't a unanimous pick for Cooperstown but he had one hell of a career.  Glad I was able to see him play.  
Knicks brass said before season that not making the playoffs would be disappointing.  Really?  What did they see that no one else did?

Must have been something in the water last night.  In Kansas, 6'9-245 pound Kansas forward Silvio De Sousa decided to taunt a Kansas State player at the end of the game and started a donnybrook that led to him picking up a stool to do bodily harm to someone.   Thankfully for him an assistant coach grabbed it from him.
In Illinois Alan Griffin didn't like Purdue guard Sasha Stefanovic stepping on his foot so after a free-throw he pulls a Laetnner and steps on Stefanovic's chest.  Not a good day for CBB.  Or any sport for that matter.

I like the Pro Bowl with the alternative to the onside kick.  One additional play on own 25 yard line and it would be a 4th and 15 play.  Get the 15 and you keep possession.  If not the opposing team gets it at the dead ball spot.  I like it.  
I think it will be a good SB but don't have a pick yet.  I think Mahomes is the better QB but the Niners have the better D.  Can the Niners keep running like they have been in the postseason?  Mahomes is the leading rusher in the postseason.  Lot of questions to be answered.
Rutgers Men's BB in the AP top 25 at #24.  Awesome.

UNC is bad.  Shocking not when you consider they lost five players who scored over 66PPG gone from this year's team.  
Conor is back but please no fights with Pacman or Floyd.  Once was enough.  Not getting tricked again.
I am picking a Packers-Titans SB.  Both road teams win today.  And the Andy Reid shutout of Superbowl wins continues.  Derrick Henry is going to keep running outside the tackles.

WNBA congrats on a new CBA.  Hopefully it will keep some of them of having to play overseas to supplement their incomes.  
Carlos Beltran could be out as Mets manager before he even manages a game.
Alex Cora is done with the Sox.  Not a good couple of days for MLB.
Joe Burrow says OBJ was handing out cash to LSU athletes the game.  Why would you do that OBJ?  Why?

Joe Burrow had one season for the ages.  60TD passes, 65 passes responsible for this season, Heisman, POY and National Champion.  Enough said.  
Trevor Lawrence will be back next year.  Vegas already has Clemson as the favorite next season.  
Tony Romo could get $10M to $14M next year.  John Madden got $8M when he was announcing.  I like Tony but he's no Madden.

Astros need a new GM and Manager.  Does it taint their 2017 MLB Championship?  Survey says yes.
And the other team in Houston had a bad day yesterday.  Blew a 24-0 lead and got outscored 51-7 the rest of the way.  Patrick Mahomes 4 TD passes in the second quarter alone.
Packers are going to SF for the NFC championship.  Aaron Rodger's 4th NFC championship game and all have been on the road.  He's 1-2 going into Sunday's game.
