Jeff and Julie Move to France (during a global pandemic)

This is probably a good time to give our Facebook page a shout-out. You can follow along with our adventures @jeffandjuliemovetofrance. This week, we will feature plenty of photos from our trip to the charming village of Moirax, where we were treated to an 11th century cathedral, and a Michelin restaurant.

On this week's Chapter, one adventure led to another. We made a culinary stop at our first Bib Gourmand restaurant, Clèment Artisan Culinaire in Lauzun.

That prompted a visit to one of Clément's wine providers, Le Clos du Breil. Bonne appétit!

We have a lot to get to in this Chapter. First up it's a report on our trip to another of France's Most Beautiful Villages, Fourcès. There's more on the Paris Olympics. And we'll tell you all about the Michelin concept known as Bib Gourmand.

Jeff was thrilled to be asked back to Canada to help induct Steve Smith (Red Green) into the Canadian Comedy Hall of Fame in Hamilton. We talk about Steve's positive contribution to Canadian Comedy and how much that connection meant to Jeff.

Also on the show, Julie has some stern words for Vegans courtesy of the French government.

There are a lot of strange traditions here in France, but one of the cooler activities is the Waitor's Race. In today's Chapter we take a look at that. There's also news on the Olympic front as we get closer to the Paris summer games. And Jeff issues a rare apology. Mark the date.

We have a lot to cover in this week's podcast. Julie talks about the Rungis International Market here in France, we have updates on the French Farmer's protests and the Paris Olympics and Jeff passes on a helpful tip on how to spot a psychopath.

Our trip to the Canary Islands was so engrossing, we had to break it up into two Chapters. In this week's episode, we pay special attention to their fascinating wine industry with an epic tour of the famed El Grifo Vineyard.

After a gloomy couple of months here in SW France, we decided to abandon ship and head over to Lanzarote for a week of sun and fun. Lanzarote is one of the 8 Canary Islands, under the Spanish flag but just off the coast of Africa. What an incredible trip...as you're about to hear.

Around two years ago we created this little podcast to keep in touch with friends and family. At the time, I don't think we anticipated bringing you Chapter 100. Thanks to all who participated by sending us your questions. We hope you enjoy the answers. Here's to the next 100. Cheers.

Our first podcast of 2024 features a look at the Ch'ti, a northern French community with a sound all to their own. We also take a look at some of the new words, French and English, appearing in the 2024 dictionaries.
