Jeff Cavanaugh - Trust the Tape

Bryan Broaddus of 105.3 The Fan joins me as he does every Monday and Thursday to talk about the Dallas Cowboys chances against the San Francisco 49ers. They certainly don't look like world beaters, but the Cowboys are going to have to be a lot better than they've been lately.

The potential returns of Micah Parsons and DaRon Bland certainly make things look a little better defensively, the 49ers should be without Brandon Aiyuk and Christian McCaffrey. Is that enough to make you feel optimistic about the good guys? Offensively can we expect progress as we move forward from Tyler Guyton and Cooper Beebe? If not, how in the world can you expect the offense to pick up? Can the Cowboys establish a non CeeDee Lamb threat for offenses to worry about Dak Prescott throwing to? Can they run the ball better with Rico Dowdle and whoever else?

All the questions coming out of the bye and all our answers, right here.

The Dallas Cowboys JUST snuck one out against the Pittsburgh Steelers last night. Bryan Broaddus from 105.3 The Fan has already done the film because he's a psycho who doesn't sleep. Did the offensive line get better with Tyler Smith moving to tackle after Tyler Guyton got hurt? Did the wide receiver group upgrade with KaVontae Turpin in for Brandin Cooks? Was this Zeke Elliott's last week on the active roster?

Plus how Mike Zimmer's defense pulled off that performance against Justin Fields and company without Micah Parsons, Tank Lawrence, DaRon Bland, Caelen Carson and Marshawn Kneeland.

The Dallas Cowboys run defense didn't show up once again and they got steamrolled by Lamar Jackson, Derrick Henry and the Ravens. They've got a LOT to work through and try to get right in a hurry. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb and the offense couldn't get off to a fast start. Micah Parsons and Tank Lawrence's defense can't stop anything and now they're getting in to it on the sideline. Lamb's body language was awful during the game and they played their best offense without him. Where do the Cowboys go from here?

Bryan Broaddus from 105.3 The Fan joins me to tell us what exactly went wrong with Mike Zimmer's defense against the New Orleans Saints. How were Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara, Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave able to to shred the Cowboys defense so easily? Scheme or players? Why was Micah Parsons a non factor? We also check in on Tyler Guyton, Tyler Smith, Zack Martin, Cooper Beebe and Terence Steele. Do they need time to gel or are we worried about it? Plus the $95 million combo of Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb and lack of other receiving options

Bryan Broaddus is here to tell us what the tape says about the Cowboys destruction of the Cleveland Browns.

Mike Zimmer's defense is off to a hot start with Micah Parsons, Tank Lawrence, Eric Kendricks and DeMarvion Overshown leading the way.

The Dallas Cowboys 53 man roster is official (for now). I'm hyped that Deuce Vaughn is in. We can talk about other position groups and what else Jerry Jones and company need to do before we start playing real football.

Dalvin Cook? More corner or DT help? Hop in let's talk about it.

After a rewatch of the Dallas Cowboys and Chargers preseason game we can talk about Trey Lance's performance and what the plan SHOULD be for him.

Plus there's a couple of guys on the roster bubble that I think made strong cases that the Cowboy's need to keep them.

It looks like the Cowboys 2024 draft could turn out to be a REALLY good one. Cooper Beebe is going to win the starting center job, Tyler Guyton is off to a great start, and this team might be able to rediscover running the football.

No one would be more appreciative than Dak Prescott.

Plus we'll take your questions including who is starting at LB, how the RB/TE groups will shake out and more! Oh can we get Deuce Vaughn on this team!?

The Dallas Cowboys finally made the move we've been asking for since before training camp by trading for another big defensive tackle in Jordan Phillips. This morning we got the news they've also signed DE Carl Lawson.

Analysis of the why now and the what next.
