In the most scatterbrained episode of the podcast so far (which is saying a lot) our travelers pinball through Los Angeles, Hollywood, Santa Monica & up the west coast overcoming audio issues galore (this one was miraculously stitched together from 8 separate bits because the recorder on my phone kept cutting out). Hollywood was a fun, special but OVERWHELMING place, which is conveyed pretty well here. We saw quite a bit in the short time we were there & also sat in A LOT of traffic. Thankfully the remaining 3 episodes we did on the trip were less hectic! Moving right along...

I recently went on a 3 & a half-week trip out west with my dad. Along the way we recorded SIX podcast episodes to help chronicle what we did. In this first episode, recorded in our hotel room, we cover the first 5 or so days from Fort Worth, Texas to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Most of this episode is about going around to different locations from the TV shows Breaking Bad & Better Call Saul. If you aren't a fan of those it might not be interesting, but IF YOU ARE you might be in podcast heaven (I don't know you). Future episodes will cover the Grand Canyon, Los Angeles, San Francisco & many other places.

Things discussed: what drew us to writing in the first place, what we write about now, writing in coffee shops, typing vs. handwriting, being introverts, what being a successful writer looks like to each of us, finding joy in the work, if TikTok has replaced the novel in our culture and some of the writers who inspire us.
