In this episode we deep dive into the world of sunscreens and why you should be using them.  The decision is totally yours but your skin will thank you later. Sunscreen has been shown to even skin tone, protects against sunburn, help with hyperpigmentation, slows and prevents premature aging (wrinkles, dark spots, prevents skin inflammation, and decreases risk of skin cancer. The key is reapplying every two hours and using at least the two finger measurement (squirt and line of sunscreen on the full lenght of both your index and middle fingers) OR 1/4 teaspoon OR 1.23 ml OR a shot glass will do!

In this episode we will be chatting about toners and micellar waters.  What are they? Do we need them in our beauty routines?

Briefly, micellar water is made of micelles (cleansing oil molecules) suspended in water. This is precisely why it can be used in the first step of a double cleanse method to get rid of all your makeup and sunscreen and then you follow with a cleanser.  The idea of the micelles is that they draw out impurities from the skin, they attract dirt an oil.  Toners looks like water but is far from it, it is packed with acids, glycerin, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatories.  It quickly penetrates the layers of skin and hydrates and exfoliates.  It is used after cleansing.  Toners act like primers, priming the skin for serum, moisturizer application.  Toners can be super gentle and hydrating, or can be exfoliating with super active ingredients like AHA/BHA (removes dead skin cells and kind of stings) and are almost like a treatment in itself.
