  • A Bird's Eye View
    A Bird's Eye View The Lord elevated Jeremiah high above the muck and mire and gave him a bird's eye view of what He sees. Then He gave him the solution for the people who wouldn't acknowledge they had a problem. When God grants you the insight and ability to see things others can't see… it's a blessing, but the blessing comes with a burden. The insights come for influence… and solutions for the problems you see. (Jeremiah 6:27-30 ; Jeremiah 1:10). #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah6 #jeremiah1and10 #jeremiah6and27 #jeremiah24 #jeremiah27 #jeremiah28 #jeremiah29 #exalted #assayer #tower #firetower #pressbox #satilite #radar #doppler #football #matthew14 #job37 #nahum1 #clouds #storms #yoked #burden #rest #insight #discern #layeredpromises #hurricanes #hurricane #hurricaneida #toseeandknow

  • It's Inevitable…
It's Inevitable A message for all the nations of the world… ...do not fear, My servant Jacob...nor be be dismayed, O Israel; Behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return...in rest...and no one shall make him afraid...though I make a full end of ALL NATIONS where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a full end of you. I will correct you...and will not let you go altogether unpunished. Jer. 30:10-11 The God of Amos' prophesy wouldn't fit in the theology or preaching of most American churches, especially the severity of judgment spoken of in Amos 7, 8 and 9. It's obvious that God is not one we can manipulate and carry around like a "get me out of trouble card." He's the same yesterday, today and forever... and the same God who judged Israel and dispersed their kingdom is the same God who rules and reigns today. They did the unthinkable... when they turned His justice into bitterness and His righteousness into poison. And what He did then... He'll do in the future to America, and all other nations, as Jeremiah said in Jeremiah 46:28. He's going to make a full end of all the nations... Give Jesus everything you are, before everything you are eternally binds you in everything He's not. #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah30 #itsinevitable #acomingstorm #jeremiah27and5 #medes #Persians #Babylon #Assyria #Jeremiah30and10thru11 #jeremiah46 #jeremiah46and28 #America #allthenationsend #decreed

  • The "Nebuchadnezzars" of Society
The "Nebuchadnezzars" of Society Contenders for the Glory of God and your life to advance their agenda and authority. Take a moment and meditate with me on Daniel 1, in light of what we're walking through in Jeremiah, and consider the contenders that fight for the minds of a generation. We'll look at Babylon and the way Nebuchadnezzar worked and I think we'll find how the "Nebuchadnezzars" work today. These Contenders offer the best incentives and make big promises. But don't forget what's coming... they will expect some sort of compromise from you and they will reward you for it. But in the end—it will always be about them. And they know you can't undo what you've already done. So... be cautious, be wise, be discerning and guard your heart...and don't let the "Nebuchadnezzars" of the world woo and win your heart with frivolous and futile promises.
There's been many lives and families shattered, through the years, because some "Nebuchadnezzar" convinced some dad or mom or student or ball player or executive... that life would be better if they'd only take what "they" were offering. Daniel purposed in his heart upfront. And the commitment he made, and the God he purposed it all to, made a distinct and delightful difference in his. And it can make a difference in ours (Daniel 1:8). Daniel was an influencer... that's still touching lives to the glory of a God. Because his influence wasn't about himself... glory!

  • Diminish Not A Single Word
Diminish Not A Single Word We can't violate nor diminish the value of the point and purpose of a passage or truth to appeal, accept or affirm the demands of the culture. The word can't mean what it never meant. Integrity in teaching and preaching is fundamental to giving eternal solutions for temporary delusions. God rarely shouts His word to us... if all I ever get is a shouting (excitingly have something to say that has life in it) word from God, but not hearing the whisper of Jesus in private, all I'm getting is seconds, left overs, reproduced nutrition. I can't always adequately communicate something exactly how I conceived and conceptualize it in my mind. If we're not hearing we ought not be speaking God's alter was to be made of raw, uncut, un-chiseled, un-smoothened rough edge stones, stones unaltered by man that will hijack the focus and get the attention of men rather than God. (Deuteronomy 27:5) He told Jeremiah to not diminish a word I give you. Jeremiah 26:2 Be as graphic and grave and gracious and glad hearted as I give it to you. Don't dress it up and cover the weightiness of my message. You heard it said, when women are shopping or trying on closes, "Does this flatter me?" They are wanting to know if it's covering up the little extra weight they've put on... or if they're loosing weight, they don't want to get something to big or little that does not make them look their best. God's word doesn't need us to cover its weight nor its wisdom... don't shave off the rough edges. Matthew 10 reminds us: what God whispers to you in private you go tell it in public. #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah26 #lamentations

  • What About Hurricanes? Whirlwinds, Warnings and Wisdom…
What About Hurricanes? The wonders and workings of the weather… and the wisdom needed to understand what God is doing through it and the storms of life (Job 37 ; Nahum 1 ; Jeremiah 25). Nothing is wasted… nothing! God has called for a whirlwind for all the nations (Jeremiah 25). We are being conformed to Jesus. The Father has chosen us, called us, converted us, commissioned us and conforming us to Jesus. John 14:31 Jesus said, "That the world may know My love for My Father and that He has given me a commandment, SO I DO..." When we SEE Jesus we want to see: His Love [Relational] (compelled) His Light [Revelation] (clarity) His Life [Reward] (cause) His Loyalty [Reliability] (credibility) Misapplied zeal... (even the greatest acts of zeal, love and loyalty can be mistaken, misguided and tainted with sinful sincerity.) WHY? It's not God's WILL, WAY OR WORK. Illustrated with Peter (14:27-31) Peter would have died FOR Jesus... I don't want to be relatable at the expense of being reliable. Our spirit should be: Why can't my reliability — be what's relatable? If I can't transfer my reliability, through my relatability, my relatable thinking has become unreliable. Don't throw out your reliability to promote your relatability with a world that can't connect, abide and relate to Jesus. Jesus with the scribes: We can't violate nor diminish the value of the point and purpose of a passage and its eternal truth to appeal, accept or affirm the demands of the culture. The word can't mean what it never meant. #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jeremiah25 #whirlwinds #hurricanes #hurricane #storms #stormsoflife #mark14 #john14 #job37

  • Who Controls the Storms?
Who Controls the Storms? Nahum, a contemporary of Jeremiah, helps us see Him who controls the whirlwind and who has called for a coming storm for all the nations (Jeremiah 25). Learning how to recognize the path of the Lord and the dust of His feet. Trusting God and entrusting the uncomfortable and uncontrollable things of His holiness and this world to Him that controls it all. All injustice will come face to face with the holy justice and holy judgement of our holy Judge and holy Justifier. What makes a justice, unjust, is the lack of God's holy justice, judgement and justification. In essence... that which lacks the presence, purpose and priority of God may be justified before man but it's an injustice to God and His glory and grace. "The LORD is slow to anger and great in power, and He by no means will allow the un-graced to go unpunished. The LORD has His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds that follow the storms are like dust, following closely behind those traveling a dry path, leaving evidence of His presence, path and purpose in the storms of life." (Nahum 1:3) I'm going to share with y'all again the following principles in light of Nahum's revelation. "The Lord is good and strong, the safest of all refuges in times of triumph and trouble, and even better than that, He KNOWS those who trust Him." (Nahum 1:7) You can't get this beauty without the storm. Atmospheric changes, like this, usually set the stage for unique and beautiful displays of God's glory and splendor in the heavens. Today's storms were no different. They rolled through our day, leaving these beautiful clouds behind, just in time for the light of todays sunset to put t

  • Wrestling with the Work of God
Wrestling with the Work of God Can I encourage you today? There once was a man who struggled with what God was doing, what God would allow and who God would use. This man was a contemporary of several other prophets, including Jeremiah. His struggle was real but it was based on his reality and not the reality of God. If you're wrestling with your reality, and not resting in God's reality, that may be the very reason for your unrest. This very same man went from a struggling witness to a servant with a living faith that surrendered to the truth, peace and rest of letting God be God of all. God's reality become his reality and he found rest and hope and joy in the Lord and the reality of his circumstances and future were no longer a threat but something to embrace, endure and enjoy. This is how Habakkuk explained the difference in his new found hope. "Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls [in short, in spite of losing all my livelihood and provision] — Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet [bountiful] like deer's feet, and He will make me walk [and overcome all the rocks and obstacles I must face] as I climb the high hills of my life..." (Habakkuk 3:17-19). #nestingwithjesus #jeremiah #jetemiah25 #jeremiah18 #jeremiah20 #joshua #joshua14 #caleb #givemethismountain #famouslyfaithful #theLordismyportionandstrength #habakkuk3and17thru19 #habakkuk #manythingsarehardtohandle #alone #somethingsarehardtoshoot #without

  • God Sent His Messenger and Message
God Sent His Prophets What's not of God's grace, is not of God. And what's not of God, does not edify or profit the body of Christ... because what's not of God's grace, is a product of fallen man. And what's from man — and for man — has a single purpose... and that is to simply to make man shine. The problem with man shining for man... is that it's an attempt to steal the glory from God. And that my friends is a product of the devil and not a disciple that's experiencing and expressing the grace of God at work within and through them. Think about it... if man had the capacity to do life, to the glory of God, without the grace of the Lord Jesus and the presence and power of His Spirit... the cross and the filling or influence of the Spirit would not be needed. But they are... because what's not of grace is not of God, but the product of man. And the only thing man can produce of his own is fallen, sinful, deceptive and deadly. Jeremiah 25 reminds us that God faithfully sent His prophets, time after time, to those living in their rebellion. Two of those prophets that were contemporaries of Jeremiah were Zephaniah and Nahum. We dug into Zephaniah and quickly recognized how easy we corrupt our actions when we fail to draw near to the Lord. The Lord helps us see what's right and what's wrong. And it's most likely not what you're thinking but it does have everything to do with grace. "...they rose early and corrupted all their deeds." (Zephaniah 3:7) Let me give some insight based on the context of the chapter and message of Zephaniah. "...they (consistently) rose early (with an eagerness to get on with their days) and corrupted all their deeds (because…
