Jarrett Pokrovsky hit over .600 for Schalick HS as a junior and is considered by many the best pure hitter in South Jersey, while Ryan Taylor flashes laser-timed 6.3 speed in the 60, flashes some power at the plate, and excels anywhere you put him on defense. He's a mainstay in a powerful St. Augustine lineup. We're excited to get this started with a unique two-man interview as Jarrett and Ryan truly are part of ... GENERATION NEXT.

  • CLEAN LEATHER - Find YOUR yellow tux with JESSE COLE, Savannah Bananas/Fans First

    MORE INFO - thesavannahbananas.com, bananasforbusiness.com

    SUBSCRIBE - youtube.com/NJCollegeBaseballNation

Our most exciting interview yet with Jesse Cole, the mastermind behind the Savanah Bananas and Fans First Entertainment, and the Yellow Tux Guy whose summer college baseball team is making news all over the world. Or should I say the PT Barnum of baseball because the Bananas don't just play games in the Coastal Plains League - they put on SHOWS, they put on performances every night. Once a promising college baseball player himself, Cole has become a master performer by "being comfortable being uncomfortable" and pushes you to do the same to become the best version of yourself. Inspiring others by understanding his 'why,' Jesse teaches us through example the importance of living without fear of failure. We get some great stories and some great "mirror moments" on the way.

If you watch this interview, you'll never look at things the same way again!

  • JBS - Ryan Fischer makes his pitch to be New Jersey's Top Arm

There are a lot of college baseball pitchers in New Jersey with great credentials this year - but one name who somehow doesn't get more attention is NJIT junior Ryan Fischer. After all, he's the only pitcher at an NJ school to win an NCAA Tournament game in 10 years - going seven strong innings to shut down a talented Northeastern squad during NJIT's magical run last year. Ryan joins us this week for a great JBS where he talks about his growth as a pitcher, how playing American Legion baseball helped him get to where he is, why NJIT is such a great place to play and a great family, and tells us where the name Gritball came from - but more importantly what it has meant to embody the NJIT program. Hope you enjoy today's episode as much as we enjoyed putting it together. Fish is ready for a big 2022 - and you should be too!

  • JBS - Dave Gallagher swings away and continues to make a big impact

There isn't much in baseball that Dave Gallagher hasn't done. Starting with a New Jersey HS State title at Steinert back in 1978. First-round MLB draft choice (twice!), 9-year MLB career (18 overall in the pros), Mets, Phillies, 25 years supporting amateurs, minor leaguers, and pros, HS head coach, World Series college head coach, champion ACBL General Manager, minor league coach, mentor to thousands of baseball players, baseball dad, active member of all 3 MLB-MLBPA joint ventures. The man has impeccable credentials in the game and it's really due to his integrity. We are fortunate to have Dave sit down with us for a JBS we are most proud of. The near hour FLIES by as we listen to Gally tell stories about his playing days, talk about his new venture with Centercourt Academy where he'll still make an impact in youth baseball, why he still is passionate about sharing the incredible knowledge he's gained over a half-century in the game. And coaches - MAKE SURE YOU GRASP THE ONE TAKEAWAY HE HAS FOR YOU AS WELL. Change someone's live. Dave's advice, like everything, comes straight from the heart.

  • CLEAN LEATHER - ESPN's Mike Rooney is the VOICE of college baseball

If you are a college baseball fan, this is a half hour you won't want to miss! It's hard to imagine that college baseball has a better advocate than Mike Rooney. The Delco native was a game away from Omaha as a super utility man at Notre Dame, a long time assistant for mentor Pat Murphy in the Pac-12 (Arizona State), a JUCO head coach, and now the game's premier analyst, both at ESPN and in his commentary and Podcasts for d1baseball.com. He's a walking encyclopedia for the sport and one of it's great connectors. And the passion and clarity in his voice when he talks about issues like recruiting, scheduling, premier players, growing the game is simply awesome to hear. Our guest on this week's Clean Leather, Mike talks about the state of the sport heading into 2022, gives us some national things to look forward to, talks some NJ College Baseball, offers some solutions into the recruiting mess, and hits on his memories of South Jersey High School baseball. Yes, Mike was also the high school head coach of Phillies announcer Ben Davis, then one of the premier amateur players in the sport.

  • JBS - Rider pitching coach Mike Petrowski pushes for more

The only person in the illustrious baseball history of Rider University to participate in the NCAA Tournament as a player AND coach, Mike Petrowski has never been one to settle for anything less than first. So it's safe to assume the young pitching coach wasn't satisfied with just making the NCAA Tournament as MAAC champion back in June. Petrowski spent his summer as part of the inaugural MLB Draft League and shares with us what he learned from the experience and how it can help Rider push the bar forward in 2022. It was a busy summer for Petrowski, whose first child, Caden, was born in August. We'll find out if Caden is a lefty (good parenting), whether he's an Eagles fan like mom (let's hope) or a Cowboys fan like dad (please no), and learn more about Rider's preparation going into 2022 as the hunted, rather than the hunters. Great Sunday edition of the Jersey Baseball Show with the most anticipated season in MAAC history looming!
