On a lighter note, summer is actually coming, both in terms of the date, the weather, and with news that Governor Murphy is lifting some restrictions for beaches and lakes. It still won't be the same but it's a welcome relief for those stuck in their homes for the last two months.  

And it seems that we are getting more and more desperate to get a groom, well as it turns out there's no plans for salons and barber shops to open, but previous guest and owner of Camp Bow-Wow is able to bring in limited customers.

Delighted to feature one of the most historic properties in the country, The Renault Winery Resort in Galloway Township. Joining us on the show is Josh McCallen, Founder of Accountable Equity, which owns the Renault Winery Resort, and their VP and Chief Operating Officer, Dan Alicea.  They are part of the team that has led a major renovation to this over 150 year old property.

Hair salons have been hit hard by the order to close as the state battles Covid-19. Without customers since March, many workers have filed for unemployment benefits and many owners scramble to figure out what changes they will have to make in order to reopen…when ever that happens. Patrice Sikora spoke with Melanie Dare of Salon Dare in Hillsborough, Somerset County, for Jersey Jobs and Biz. Melanie anticipates significant changes for her stylists and customers.

This week we welcome Dr. Craig Springer, Ph.D., a Clinical Psychologist at the Good Life Center for Mental Health in Cranford, NJ. Dr. Springer shares with us their personal experience through Covid-19, including a loss suffered in his extended family and the difficulties grieving. 

He stresses focusing on the here and now, what you can do, and trying to avoid going down a path of yearning for what we wish we could do during these difficult times. We also discuss how to find appropriate and effective technology-based mental health solutions and why it’s so important to explore them.

Minor League baseball has become a major part of local economies in the past few years. It feels like a year ago when I saw Joe Pardo down in Florida at a podcasting conference. It just the beginning of March. And in that time, so much has changed for all of us. For Joe, he’s had to adapt to the changes to work here in the Garden State as the CFO of Pardo Fleet Solutions in Sewell, NJ. But he’s also an event organizer, with hopes of still doing a live event in September, The Independent Podcast Conference. And yet since shelter-in-place orders were brought out, he has put on several virtual conferences to help people at home take advantage of this extra time to create new content.
