Welcome to recruiting after COVID. You have a job opening. You post through the normal channels. You’re using job boards, advertising using flyers, stapling business cards to bags, even giving out sign-on bonuses and cool perks yet NOTHING seems to be working. Every company is struggling right now and no matter what you try, applicants aren’t even showing up for their scheduled interviews much less coming in for their first day of work. So what are employers left to do?
In this episode, I'll go over many ideas that companies are trying right now to win the war on talent.  Some of these ideas outperform others, but if you aren't trying what's on this list - you might want to test it out!

  • Episode 9: COVID Career Crunch
Unless you’ve been living under a rock or have not had access to a TV, phone, or contact with people, you may have not heard this but, there are a lot of jobs out there and it seems like nobody wants to apply for them! I’m in the business of helping to hire people and with so many millions of unemployed people and a ton of jobs available, I have to press on the question…… What’s the deal and why are so many employers struggling to find talent?
If you are a manager or business owner, it’s been tough to stay open because you can’t seem to get applications no matter what you do. Everyone is posting "Now Hiring" Signs.  Employers are offering things they have never had to before such as: sign-on bonuses, conducting interviews on the spot, providing daily pay, benefits, free lunch, and even free transportation. Employers are doing everything they can to attract talent.
This episode is just a conversation starter.  A discussion on how and why we got to this point.  Stay tuned for the next episode where we will go into more detail on a few ideas and best practices most companies are doing now to fight the war to stay open and bring people back to work.
If you are a business owner or manager, what are some of the things you are doing?  If you are unemployed and collecting unemployment, what are some reasons you are staying home?  Share your stories:  [email protected] and Find me on LinkedIn or Instagram!

Not only will these listening tips help to build communication, but help you in building confidence to identify when it’s also time for you to speak up! The moment you think, "if this doesn't serve you, it definitely doesn't deserve you" could mean it's time to dig deep and figure out what it is in your work life that is your sign to speak up and move on or speak up and work through it.  You decide.
