Ah, yes, the worst part of hotels... Having to pay for them! 🙄 But seriously, though, it can get SUPER convoluted. On top of good ol' regular guaranteed reservations made with a credit card (or debit card-- all that really matters is that we have a reliable form of payment), there's also reservations made with a corporate guarantee, or a third-party reservation with a generated credit card, or a business/convention booking with payment routing to a master account, yada yada yada... I'm getting a headache. 🤣

Overall, the lesson here is to just please be aware of what risks you're taking when booking a non-guaranteed reservation!

Hello hello hello! I'm super excited to debut a new character that I hinted in a previous video... Meet the Front Desk Director!

When I worked for a large convention hotel, we had a HUGE front desk. Our front desk hierarchy went like this: Front Desk Agents - Leads - Supervisors - Assistant Managers - Managers - Assistant Director - Director. And that's before you even get to the hotel operations level. It was MASSIVE!

Now... I can neither confirm nor deny that this Director is based on a real-life manager I had and hated... Totally can't confirm that at all... cough cough
