  • Vibes Web3 Music Competition - (wk8)- Don't Stop Believin
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/donrwknq
The Vibes Web3 week 8 is almost over, Infact I had thought I wouldn't be able to publish a post this week due to how distracted I have been.
I guess it happens sometimes when we get overwhelmed with thoughts and life generally that we lose concentration.
Anyways, I bring to you all my cover of 'Don't stop believin by Journey'.
    ![InShot_20240412_202555031.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/AJW6kWGrzGwkmxbjjQbwjDL2WB7CiN6hhFF3DhvdmfVojzbFZpAdFDX4t7WeVCq.jpg)
For this cover, I plugged in my lavalier lapel microphone and used it for my recording which I had thought wasn't useful anymore. I was proved wrong today after I saw that the mic is still able to filter out a good amount of noise. When next I use the mic, I will make sure I sing directly to the mic without waving so much so that the sound being produced doesn't sound faded.
I enjoyed recordind this cover even though I made a lot of mistakes and had to re_record many.
I downloaded the instrumental of the song from Tubidy.mobi and then imported it in the Moises app where I made a little change so that I would be able to sing conveniently along with the instrument.
After recording my cover, I edited the instrumental with my vocal so they would sync.
The track "Don't Stop Believin" by the Journey is centered around chasing after your aspirations and persevering, even in the face of hardships. The verses narrate the story of a small town girl and an city gentleman who depart from their modest beginnings to pursue a more prosperous life in the metropolis. Despite the obstacles they face, the tune motivates listeners to "cling to that sensation" and persist in pursuit of our ambitions.
This brings me to what I said about being distracted.... Everything in life is about moderacy. Even though thoughts distracts me for a while, I should be able to bring myself back to reality. I don't have to stop believing in myself, my goals, ambitions and stuff life that.
Thanks for reading this post and watching the video.

  • Creative-Sunday - Yahweh & Arise (acapella cover)
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/chxlbgqu
We sing and talk about Yahweh almost all the time. Don't we?
Who is he to you? I see him as a perfect creator of the universe who is perfect too...No wonder that singer said 'My beloved is the most beautiful.
    ![InShot_20240407_202003917.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EoH2pcLEwzgC5Lua98ZTtDHzZG6njVLm2xcMJGV8LKJRYbb3PCxcNVYDmHgL9EUXtgr.jpg)
It's true that Yahweh is the only One who has no equal. He's the only One we should worship and adore. It's important that we come before Him and allow Him to take charge of everything in our lives. That's the only way we can find true peace and joy.
This song reminds me to be ready to surrender myself to the Almighty God. We shouldn't act as if we can manage our lives alone. Only Yahweh can do it, so we need to continually call on Him to "have His way" in our lives. It's as if the singer is begging God, "Lord, no matter what happens, I want You to do what You want to do with my life. I don't want to be the one in control, let You take the lead, Just have your way"
As I thought of what to post here, those two songs came to my mind. I even forgot that the musician who sang the Arise song was Don Moen and the title is 'ARISIE'. However, I remember checking the internet once for the lyrics of the first song, but I couldn't find them.
Anyway, this song also reminds me that only God can rule and control our lives. He has the final say, and He's the one we should always look up to. It's not good for us to try to manage our lives alone without God.
In fact, that's what causes a lot of problems for many people. They think they can do everything themselves without God. But it doesn't work like that at all. When we surrender ourselves to Him and allow Him to "Arise" and reign, that's when we'll have joy and peace and see him work wonders in our lives.
I believe that the primary message conveyed through the song "Arise" is the importance of not allowing anything to take the place that rightfully belongs to God. It serves as a valuable lesson that we must all internalize and implement in our daily lives.
By continuously surrendering ourselves to Him and allowing Him to guide us, we display our trust in God rather than trying to manipulate outcomes on our own. Our actions and choices reflect whether we are being led by God or attempting to exert control over everything. Following God's lead will be evident in our behavior and decision-making, whereas attempting to micromanage will only result in frustration and disappointment.
Also, it is important that we learn to let go and let God. Let's stop trying to manage our lives alone. Let's open our hearts and allow Yahweh, the one and only true God, come and "Arise" and take His place. As we do it, let's sing and praise Him, because He's the only One who should be ruling and controlling everything.

  • VIBES🎵 / WEB3 Music Competition 7 - ADORE YOU (cover) by @jessicaossom
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/ueinfqtj
This is Vibes Web3 competition week 7. Kudos to the great minds behind the Vibes Web3 initiative.
Today, I bring to you all my cover of the song "Adore You" by Miley Cyrus. It is a very nice love song. Also, in the lyrics of the song, Miley expresses her deep feelings of admiration and devotion for her lover.
    ![InShot_20240403_160955631.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EpVET7o2pj7i5TngR1885Nkg5vAQRgZzqJ73GAD66Pmua8wagENB31D4pfRCXu5SnUP.jpg)
From the opening lines "Baby, baby, are you listening? Wondering where you've been all my life, I just started living", Miley shows that this lover is the person she has been searching for her entire life before finally meeting them. When this person entered her life, that's when she truly started living.
As the song goes on, Miley professes "When you say you love me, know I love you more. When you say you need me, know I need you more." This means no matter how much her partner expresses their love for her, Miley's love exceeds it.
The chorus captures the main point of the song: "Boy I adore you, I adore you." Miley declares without shame that this is the person she worships, she idolizes above everything else.
Some vivid lyrics reinforce the intensity, like when Miley sings "I feel like I'm standing with an army of men armed with weapons" when her lover is near. This shows that when the two of them are together, she has a sense of protection as if she has a whole army guiding her.
In short, "Adore You" celebrates a deep, sacred, everlasting bond of love. The way Miley sings "You and me were meant to be in holy matrimony, God knew exactly what he was doing when he led me to you", she expresses a belief that God destined for them to meet, that they are soulmates.
The passionate vocal delivery shows Miley's longing to cherish this loved one forever. "Adore You" proves that Miley's heart has been utterly consumed by this deep, purifying love that makes her world go round.

  • Afritunes #108 - Ise Oluwa & Mo mo ri ri re (cover) by @jessicaossom
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/ljrcrlqf
Hello friends! This is a another amazing Afritunes week 108!
For this week, I have merged two popular Yoruba gospel songs together to create one sweet new song. It's this new song I want to talk about today. Hehe
    ![InShot_20240401_230859814.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EpnF9HyRkeQUF578ZEkxJsybUHW5kEHg59BxVjWzUE6Q48ffs92AAaD1C3pWBXB5f4o.jpg)
The song starts by saying "Ise Oluwa ko le baje o" - the works and plans of God cannot be destroyed. This part reminds us that God has the highest power and control over everything in this life. No matter the challenges that come, God is in charge and His purposes will stand strong.
After that intro part, the song then goes into the lyrics "Mo mo riri re, torina ni mo se nyo" which means "I appreciate it, that's why I rejoice." This section is to show gratitude and joy to God for all the blessings He has poured on us every day. We have many reasons to thank and praise Him.
So in this merged song, it first establishes that God's power cannot be shaken and He is in control of everything. Then it moves to celebrate God's goodness as we thank Him for all the sweet things He has done for us with His great love.
The overall meaning is that we should have strong belief that nobody or nothing can stop God's will and works for our lives. And because we have this faith, we can then rejoice and appreciate all the good things He has done for us with His kind heart.
The song calls us to live with confidence in God's control over every situation, as we too have a thankful heart for the many ways He shows His kindness to us every day. Real power and real gratitude work hand-in-hand in this song.

  • VIBES🎵 / WEB3 Music Competition 6 - ONE LAST TIME (cover) by @jessicaossom
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/wldzmjyq
What's up everyone! This is Vibes Web3 music competition week 6. Today, I'll discuss my new cover of Ariana Grande's song "One Last Time."
    ![InShot_20240331_215652745.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EpGU9doV1UgYEt1v1jVeZsc8FoNtqhodzJstwDa2wRrv8RPcEfMVtZDUYsVzxBq6bZP.jpg)
I think the song tells the story of a woman who was unfaithful, to her partner. Despite knowing it was a mistake she found herself unable to resist the allure. It's truly devastating to deceive someone you care for deeply in such a manner.
In the lyrics of the song, she confessed saying "I was unfaithful, I succumbed to desire. I should have resisted, but I'm at least being honest." She's not sugarcoating it - she confesses to letting her man down and wishes she had treated him better.
In another part of the lyrics, she said "I know the other woman gives you everything. But I couldn't provide what she does for you." She recognizes the new partner may offer more love and care than she could. She feels she can't match what her man has found.
Yet she pleads, "So one last time, let me be the one who takes you home." She wants one final night together to properly part ways as just friends, not lovers. After that, she'll move on and let him pursue the new relationship.
She reasons with herself, "I may be undeserving, but if you give me a chance, I'll make it worthwhile." She's asking for a bit of compassion from him.
Another part of the lyrics says, "Can't you forgive me, just this once? It's my fault, I should have been more careful." She's desperately trying every angle to regain his heart.
But he remains firm. So in a last-ditch effort she says, "I should have resisted, but I'm being honest now. Just give me one little moment to show you it'll be worth it, baby. Because I don't want to lose you." She's doing whatever she can to win him back.
The core plea is: "One last time, let me be the one who takes you home." She wants one more night together to cherish their memories and show she just wants friendship now, not romance. Then she'll walk away and let him pursue this seemingly more loving relationship.
In essence, she gave in to desire and betrayed her man. Now she begs for one final chance to prove she can provide more care than the new partner. But afterwards, she'll leave him to that seemingly deeper love. Yet for now, she just wants one last intimate night to reminisce.
There's my cover one more time: [My twitter link]. What do you think? Share your feedback in the comments! Peace.

  • AFRI-TUNES #107 || YESHUA (cover) by
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/jayvfkde
    ![InShot_20240327_132242825.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EokfaLzatzqxvFxEqSQUH9y6BmyYJyLudTGsPPR7R58fWmcPsXGQjBL1WUYhtpnxFHS.jpg)
What exactly is this song "My Beloved is the Most Beautiful" conveying? It's a beautifully sweet tale of love, admiration and devotion to Jesus Christ as the most precious beloved in the world.
The singer establishes right from the start that this beloved is the finest jewel, more beautiful than thousands upon thousands of others. "My beloved is the most beautiful among thousands and thousands." It's as if this one surpasses the beauty of any princess or queen in the entire universe.
The way this line is repeated over and over drives the message deep into our minds. This beloved's beauty is no small matter - it's next-level gorgeous, unequaled by anyone else. Whenever the singer admires this beloved, they treat them as if they are the only one in existence in the whole world.
Then the singer introduces the name Yeshua, which is how Jesus Christ is called in Hebrew. Aha! Now the code is cracked - it's our Lord Jesus Christ that this beloved is referring to. When the name "Yeshua" is sung with elongated "ahhs" like "Yeshua ahhh ahh ahh, ahhh ahh ahh" it sounds like passionate praise!
This adds an extra spiritual dimension to the song as a serious worship song for our Lord and Savior Jesus. The singer isn't just sweet-talking Jesus in a romantic way, they are fully revering him as the supreme being who reigns over heaven and earth. The way they mention Yeshua's name sounds holy and sacred.
The chorus lyrics have turned into a kind of mantra of adulation for Christ as the ultimate beloved and most beautiful one. We can sing it over and over again like a meditation or prayer session.
Because of the repetition, simplicity and spiritual undertones of the lyrics, this song could qualify as a worship song for a church setting. The message is clear - Jesus Christ is more beautiful than anything! No beauty in this world can match the radiance and perfection of our Lord Yeshua.
The harmonies, melodies and instrumentals would no doubt be lovely to support the loving gaze towards Christ. The entire song preaches a soul-inspiring dedication to Jesus Christ from start to finish.
What remains is for us to soak into the message and appreciate the unmatched beauty and glory of our Savior Jesus Christ as the most beautiful beloved on all the earth. Let us sing this praise to him day and night, highly exalting the highest love and perfection that Yeshua embodies.

  • Creative-Sunday - I Give Myself Away (cover)
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/cyuposgp
This world never stops telling people to follow their minds, do what their hearts want, and be their own person. Magazines, social media, and all those self-help books keep saying it's only when a person does their own thing that they will find happiness and fulfillment in life.
But this song "I Give Myself Away" has a completely different message. The lyrics call on the person to surrender everything, including themselves, to God - to leave behind their own dreams and goals, and give their life over to God.
At first, it might sound like this is a way to destroy a person's life and purpose. How? To just give yourself over to God like that? But it's actually the opposite!
When a person surrenders everything to God, that's how they will fulfill their real destiny and become who God truly wants them to be. The lyrics state it clearly, "My life is not my own / Yours I belong / I give myself, I give myself to You." Nothing is hidden, it's a full surrender.
On the spiritual side, when a person gives their life to God like that, that's how they free themselves from the illusion of an independent self that exists in this world. Buddhism has a concept they call "no-self" and in Christianity too, Jesus said unless a person denies themselves, they won't bear fruit in life.
It's true that it's hard to just let go of what we tightly hold onto like that. The ego doesn't let a person easily give up their autonomy. But as the song says, "Take my heart, take my life as a living sacrifice." It's like every time, we get the chance to offer ourselves to God.
And when we do that, that's how our small, personal stories will enter into God's big plan that is far bigger than us. It's that grace that will enable us to do things we could never dream of by ourselves. Because "my life is not my own / Yours I belong."
It's in that paradox that lies true life and overflowing joy! To consciously let go so that God can use us for what He wants, that is the way to truly awaken to our purpose in this life.
So friends, you all should try it! Give your lives to God today and see how you will live and fulfill a destiny bigger than any dream you had before. I give myself away...so You can use me!

  • VIBES🎵 / WEB3 Music Competition - LOVELY (cover) by @jessicaossom
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/eadfqfac
Okay, let me share my own personal thoughts on this touching "Lovely" by Billie Eilish and Khalid.
First, let you all know that this is not any original song I recorded! It's a cover rendition of the haunting hit "Lovely" by Billie Eilish featuring Khalid that I've recreated for your enjoyment.
    ![InShot_20240320_223221377.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EpJZ5m2d7q9HW6BMe8FfRf3vs7jeYfPKtVopArcBzpyd99DUGCFSFuLWCA3qNJ1kZzt.jpg)
But this soulful jam is preaching about the deep reflection on the mental struggles of depression, loneliness and low self-worth. The lyrics capture that feeling of being trapped inside your own thoughts, desperately longing for anyone to understand and support you.
As they sing it, it makes me feel like the darkness of troubles has engulfed my mind, as I just wander through life without any light to guide me. That's what makes the melody so powerful and full of raw emotion for me.
Yet despite all the negativity and suffering the lyrics explore, the chorus will still remind me that "Isn't it lovely." This reassurance is so sweet, as it gives me hope that no matter what I face, I still have inner value and beauty that no one can take away.
So the overall message of the song is one of resilience, self-love and the ability to find light even in my darkest tunnels. It's insightful inspiration that has touched my soul and reminded me to keep it lovely no matter the situation.
Why did I choose to cover this meaningful track for Vibes Web3 week 5? Simply put, the message has resonated with me for a very long time since I first listened to it. This is a song I've always appreciated for the way it preaches self-acceptance and finding beauty in your struggles.
From my own personal experience, I've faced many troubling moments that nearly made me temporarily doubt my self-worth. But anytime "Lovely" plays, that inner light will reignite, as the sweet melody vibes sweetly into my spirit.
That's why this cover is a real passion project for me as I share this message of hope with the world, to hopefully touch the souls of anybody like myself battling their inner demons. Let them know they are still lovely inside, despite any challenges!
Apart from the deep lyrics, Billie and Khalid's creative songwriting skills plus their vocals are top-notch too! The way they crafted the haunting melodies, harmonies and vocal flows has grown my own admiration for talented artists like them. That's why I have full respect for their work.
    https://twitter.com/OssomJessica/status/1770741510947885546?t=aR5-moJNss8Z_m5uuKxrig&s=19
That's why I decided to recorded myself doing a cover of the song "Lovely" as my own special way of paying homage to the beautiful original, while putting my unique spin on top of the infectious groove.
This cover is my own inspired contribution to the mental health conversation from my personal perspective.
And for anybody struggling with inner demons today like myself, always remember: You are so lovely! Don't lose hope, we're all on this journey together. Stay blessed as you appreciate the inspiring message behind this tune!

  • Afritunes #106 - Holy of Holies (cover) by @jessicaossom
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/hrnbgdrs
    ![InShot_20240320_132712273.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/EppNfFuaBgLA3JfUospgCsbgqjUC9vBoszuFVzUBSfyoi1WXKkYdFvsr9XjszHrS5LV.jpg)
This "Holy of Holies" song is really spiritually deep! When I first heard the lyrics, they touched my soul. The mention of entering "the Holy of Holies through the blood of the Lamb" really struck a chord with me. It's meaningful imagery!
In customs the "Holy of Holies" represented the sacred space within the temple reserved exclusively for the High Priests annual entry. So these lyrics use it as a metaphor to represent the highest level of spiritual encounter with God Himself.
And the part about "the blood of the Lamb" refers to Jesus' sacrifice which opened the way for ordinary humans like us to come near God's holy presence. So the whole song is pointing us to the ultimate worship experience!
As I meditated on this profound message, I awoke to the deep, deep level of what the lyrics are trying to convey. To "enter the Holy of Holies" spiritually means you have connected with the Almighty at the highest sacred realm.
This is what the chorus "I enter to worship You only" reveals, that the only thing on one's mind is to honor and adore God who the song celebrates as the "Holy, Holy Lord."
The prayer for "the weight of God's glory to cover us" shows the hunger to experience the full manifestation of God's divine majesty during the worship session.
And when the song prays for "the life of God's river to flow, and the truth of His Kingdom to reign in us", it's clearly demanding total surrender and openness to the outpouring of God's Spirit and reign!
This kind of deep spiritual hunger and revelation is what the song has stirred in my soul. As I sang it for the AfriTunes show, my heart was fully engaged with the profound level of worship that the lyrics preach. The vision is this: For God's glory to be manifested and exalted! Even if through just the instrument of my humble voice, may souls still enter into the realms of the Holy of Holies for true worship. That is the prayer this song has put in my spirit!

  • Wrecking Ball - Miley Cyrus (cover) - VIBES WEB3 COMPETITION WEEK 4
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=jessicaossom/ocpnolzw
Hey Vibes Web3 fam! For week 4, I'm swinging in with a very spicy cover. You know that iconic music video where Miley was...let's just say she wasn't shy about expressing herself? Well, I took that energy and made my own version.
    ![Broken Glass Focus Phone Wallpaper.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/jessicaossom/23tSWU2u8oPyTCF6L33gRSm5axpzZPiPpaL7hWwqXWh7Qc5UKRcFXzoCaFMYGP9BmQyfe.png)
But don't worry, I kept things family-friendly - no wrecking balls or construction equipment were harmed in the making of this cover. Just me, a mic, and some serious vocals to demolish your expectations, Hehe.
I chose this song because Miley's powerful vocals on 'Wrecking Ball' are just iconic. The raw emotion she pours into every note is so captivating. I've always loved her ability to really sell a song with her signature raspy tone and unrestrained passion.
There's something so vulnerable yet defiant about the way she belts out those lyrics. I wanted to capture that same energy while making it my own.
Miley is truly a vocal queen, and her ability to convey so much feeling through her voice is insane. From her tongue-wagging days to her current rock goddess era, she's always brought an incredible level of passion and authenticity to her performances. Her stage presence is electric and her lyrics are inspiring. She's an artist who has truly changed the game.
Of course, I couldn't recreate that unforgettable music video (you're welcome!), but I put my whole heart into capturing Miley's spirit and intensity. I hope you Web3 fam can vibe with my take on this modern classic!
