Scripture: Mark 1:21-28

“For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.” Romans 15:4 (NIV)

 

Get this from the story: 

There is an AUTHORITY

v22, “The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught with real authority…” 

v27b, “…What sort of new teaching is this?...It has such authority.” 

 

There is an ADVERSARY

See v23-24. 

 

There is a PROBLEM 

We don’t believe in authority 

We don’t believe in the supernatural

 

Ephesians 6:10-12, “A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.”

 

There is HOPE, Right Now

We all, are this man. RIGHT NOW.

We all, have access to Jesus. RIGHT NOW.

We all, can be freed. RIGHT NOW.

 

Final Thought: Jesus is still in the miracle of hope business.
