Jia Wertz won numerous awards for her debut documentary, CONVICTION, which tells the story of Jeff Deskovic, and the aftermath of his wrongful conviction. Jeff was a guest on DIE-ALOGUE, so it was a special thrill to see his story told in this way. Jia shares what led her to pick up filmmaking, her passion for criminal justice reform, and how Serial Season 1 had a direct connection to her beginning this film.A full length version of this story is coming later this year, as well as an entirely different film that will also be about wrongful convictions.
