Jimmy Lizama started LA's Bike Kitchen in the Ecovillage's old kitchen around the turn of the century. Later came Venice's Bikerowave, Highland Park's Bike Oven, and the Valley Bikery (the Kitchen still cooks at its new location at Fountain and Virgil in Silverlake). Mr. Lizama has moved on to start his own business recycling bikes and building dynamo hubs for lighting and electric systems on recycled bikes at Relampago Wheelery, across the street from where the Kitchen started.
