In my Human and Organisational Factors research I have found that in organisations with empowering communications they do the following:
- when people talk they are present with each other
- their focus is on the person they are speaking to - completely
- they listen carefully
- their pace of talking is slower and more studied
- the level of respect with which each speaks to the other truly honours both
