Far too often leaders feel overwhelmed by the everyday demands of their jobs and they in turn disengage from the ideal of workers flourishing and doing their best work. They love the idea of workers flourishing and of a flourishing bottom line, but are not actively engaged in a leadership project that allows it to happen.

I would suggest that flourishing is in short supply because of lowered standards. Customers have become accustomed to airlines and railways that regularly delay flights/trains and dismiss passenger frustration; they’ve come to expect banks and other financial institutions to be more concerned with the bank’s financial wellbeing than the customers.  Also, political narratives has been degraded to unimaginable levels.
