An Interview with LaChell R H --Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, LeChell Rush Honorat, also known as "The Shootah," is a multidisciplinary artist who creates written, visual & spoken experiences centering the black queer feminine experience, motherhood and mental health advocacy. LeChell is a 3x Women of the World Poetry Slam Finalist, currently ranked 2nd in the world for the 2022 competition, and a finalist in the inaugural Stonewall International Poetry Slam. She is author of the collection Cause Therapy Ain't For Black Folks from Qwest Press and the self-published collection Jaywalking and a Watering Hole Fellow. Jaywalking is a photographic collection paired with quotes from the participants and punctuated with poems also written by the photographer LeChell R.
