Former Fort Worth, TX police officer Brian Franklin was falsely accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in 1994. The girl told the stepbrother she was lying within days of the alleged incident, but the former cop was convicted in 1995, and spent 21 years in prison, all the while maintaining his innocence. The stepbrother finally came forward a few years ago — in 2014 the girl, then a young woman, still insisted that he raped her, even though she admitted she lied. Finally in 2016 a judge granted a new trial, saying Franklin was denied due process. The girl’s mother told another man the girl was lying, and that man testified on Brian Franklin’s behalf too. He was exonerated and let out of prison. He wants to be declared innocent, or he cannot be compensated for wrongful imprisonment. We don’t know whether the accuser will face perjury charges! Jesse says that this is an epidemic of women falsely accusing men all the time. He talks with so many guys in counseling around the country and world. This push to “believe women” and assume men guilty despite being shown innocent is evil! http://jlptalk.com Friday, Sep 21, Hour 2, segment 3.
