Calling for help gives you the support to truly take the pause you need so that you can be the best version of you for the child you are working with. If you are unable to remove yourself from the situation so that you can calm, chances are you will react vs respond.

Structures allow children to have predictability throughout the day. In looking at structures, a classroom schedule is huge. With this classroom schedule children will know what is to come, where they are and how much time is left in the day.

Empathy allows each person to see what someone else is going through and sit with them in that feeling but not take on the feeling. Empathy allows us to hold space in our hearts for someone in distress and gently send love their way. Listen in as the JMJ Crew discusses how to teach empathy to children. 

In every aspect of our lives we are dealing with conflicts. Conflict resolution practice gives kids and adults the opportunity to stand for themselves, yet see from a different point of view so that the conflict can be resolved all while skills are being taught.
