The U.S. job market is showing fresh signs of strain as employers announced more than 71,000 layoffs in November — a 24% increase from last year — according to Challenger, Gray & Christmas. Through November, job cuts have risen 54% compared to 2023, reaching their highest level since the height of the pandemic.
